My friend just got an e-mail today from his college. Words can't describe the funny. Dear Mathew S. (P 53848):
You owe $1. in fines to the Library for materials returned later than the due date.
Failure to pay the fine by August 7, 2007 will result in you not receiving your diploma from RCC.

He should pay it back... in pennies. We did that once for a bill we got from the university for something like $0.45 overdue on something. It ranked right up with our machinist framing his $0.02 check he received from the university that cost them more to process than it did for the value of the check itself.

My father was a commercial fisherman in Alaska when the Exxon Valdez spilled it's guts... I think it was 2 years ago when all the court cases ended (the spill was in 1989), and he got a check for $0.00.
