Just curious if anyone else here has heard anything more about SOE's unnanounced project in development.  It's been over a year now and still no word as to exactly what it will be, but I've identified several of the people working on it:

Gordon Walton - Studio Manager
Bill Trost - Lead Designer
Jonathan "Calandryll" Hanna - Senior Designer / Community Manager
John Buckley - Lead Programmer
Vince Harnon - Network Programmer / Technology
Kevin Burns - Lead Environmental Artist
Jon-David Wiesman - Programmer
Lawrence Poe

Some of the above may be incorrect if there is more than one secret project, of course.  Has anyone heard anything more?

By the time it sees the light of day, any originality will have long been sucked from it to minimize risk and maximize subscription length.

Its going to be a Mall MMOG that involves shop ownership and building escalators to get from one level to the next.  You can not push anyone out of the way and are constantly assaulted by the highschool crowd that only came to gawk and spit gum.  And the biggest store in the mall will be selling one item and one item only, the shiny new treadmill.

Everquest, The Next Generation.

Or more likely, EQ Voyager.

Leisure Suit Larry, the MMOG.

I'd bet on it!

Why does Callandryl get the "senior" designation?  There are no regular "designer"s under him, so why isn't he just a "designer"?

I think I too would employ a detective agency that specializes in investigating bullshit if I wanted to find out what a MMOG company was up to.

It is very difficult for me to express angst or exuberation over a project for which the only thing we have is an org chart for project management.

The entire rest of this thread is based on assumption.
Not to buck against the theme here, but I'm going to withhold my review until this product has, in the very least, a name. I'd like to wait for a website maybe, but a name would be a good start.

The entire rest of this thread?  Even the org chart is assumptions.  There is not a single fact in this thread.

If I was the hopeful type I would hope they would resurrect their carwars type game that was already in development at one point.  But fat chance of that.

That wasn't the whole list of people, just the ones I've been able to determine are working on a secret project or projects at SOE.  The title is one he himself used on the UXO boards shortly after he got the job.

His title for the AGC is "Community Architect" so perhaps he's not doing any design now.

Geez, guys, I'm not asking for a REVIEW, just wondering if anyone has heard anything more substantive about it.  We DO know they are working on SOMETHING, although I suppose it could be a Doomsday Device.

here's all i know: I asked Calandryll to tell me about this secret project and he said that first, he would have to reveal to me his 'true face' and at that point, I ran back into the arms of my ape masters.
