A co-worker is stuck in Furth, apparently a village north of Nuremburg, and she needs a place to get some vodka.  Suggestions?

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Maybe she should call a car mechanic instead to see if he can get her into thecond gear?

(I've decided to say the furth thing that pops in my head all day today, regardless of whether or not it makes any sense.  It's like a brain enema to clear out twisted thoughts)

Drinking vodka whilst in Bavaria makes me  Sad Panda

She isn't poor but also generally drinks margaritas or appletinis, so... I guess anyplace where her shoes won't stay stuck to the floor and isn't "smelly".

It is along the lines of blasphemy.

Better be careful, they might burn her at the stake.

She might drink some beer, who knows.  She was just complaining to me about being stuck at a Siemens facility, and I suggested alcohol.

I guess it could be worse, she could be stuck in a semen facility. Or a seamen's facility.

Ok....that was totally tasteless and not funny.

I apologize.

You win, I got a chuckle out of that one.

She should be happy it's not the 1940's, back then being stuck in a Siemens facility was very bad.

(Siemens and many other German company's had facility's in the concentration camps for the cheap disposable slave labor)

Not that Siemes was not in bed with the nazi regime, but I think you are refering to the , but I have to admit I thought Siemens was a member as well.

On a lighter note. Wodka is to be had in germany in every "kiosk", "trinkhalle" or discounter that sells alcohol. Most of them are pretty clean, avoid shops next to trainstations :-D

Great, I was hoping I could just direct her to NEAREST DRINKING PLACE, so I will just tell her she's not that removed from civilization.  Thanks!

A very good suggestion by the way, do you know Siemens? ;-)

I do not know any bars or pubs in germany fürth, but she could always drive over to Nuremberg. The public transportation is very good and it is at most 20 minutes away. There are quite a few good bars in central nuremberg I could recommend.

edit: wrote germany when I should have written fürth. Don't know where that one came from.

Furth is basically a part of Nuremburg.  That was where I was first stationed in Germany until they completely closed it down a month later.  A short stay, and then off to Ansbach.

Sorry, reminiscing.

Not as much as I am going to.  They actually do our internal helpdesk today, so when I need someone to fix my laptop I talk to them.  Now we are going to be outsourcing some new infrastructure to them.  This is amusing for many reasons, but mostly because Siemens outsources their own IT infrastructure.
