May 1976 "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney & Wings

And that's not bad luck, besides some good passable stuff in the 1970s, and the late 60's, most of my birthday's top songs are the suck.
For a musical genius, Paul McCartney has recorded a ton of shitty music.
What's worse is that sometime in the 80s, if I remember correctly, the number of records he had sold post-Beatles (i.e. Wings and solo) was greater than the number of The Beatles records sold.

Jack and Diane is a terrible song.  Embarrassingly terrible.  It could have been made better, however, if they had tiger feet.

Well, see.. that's why the 2nd line's there.

Bad Chimp, bad.

I was expanding the premise :D

....or something.

Oh yeah, I never really cared for Jack and Diane myself. I think mainly because I dislike John Can'tkeepmyfuckingnamethesameformorethanaweek in general.

(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley

(The song on the video - nothing to do with Knut, however).

Hal wins oldest in thread.  His is the only song I've never heard before.  When the hell is that from, anyway?

Some of these songs people mention don't seem old enough to me for these people to be out of high chairs.  Time is funny that way.

"How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by The Bee Gees

God what a terrible version.  Al Green, however, did an awesome job.

I totally win teh internetz this time. "Long and Winding Road". I'm getting a chuckle about me walking around the kitchen in my underwear warbling "Do they know its Christmas time" at the time Schild was getting spawned. HEe.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Just one year later and it would've been "Call Me" by Blondie.  I love Blondie!   cry

Birthday (September 1967)
US : "The Letter" by The Box Tops  (Never heard of it)
UK : The Last Waltz - Engelbert Humperdinck (huh?)
AU : Itchycoo Park - The Small Faces (sounds familiar)

Damn, I think I got screwed in the birthday song lotto.  And I second the "Anyone born in the 80s are young fuckers.  Bastards!"

Wedding Day (May 1993 - can't remember any graduation dates, too far back)
US : "Freak Me" by Silk (Who?)
UK :  Five Live EP - George Michael & Queen with Lisa Stansfield  (eh?)
AU : Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz  (acceptable)

I already knew that it was "Somebody Help Me" by The Spencer Davis Group in the UK... in the US charts, it turns out that it was "(You're My) Soul And Inspiration" by The Righteous Brothers, while in Australia it was "Nowhere Man / Norwegian Wood" by The Beatles.

I remember it well... "New York, London, Paris, Munich, everybody talk about, pop muzik, talk about, pop, pop, pop muzik". Kind of Moroder-influenced new-wave.

I hadn't realized it came out at the end of the 70s.  I thought it was just a typical 80s synth-pop/new wave song.  It's really not that bad if you can stomach bland 80s-style pop.  It reminds me of Devo, if you were to take out everything that makes Devo fun and interesting.  Doesn't make me want to stick drills in my ears like that fucking "Reunited" shit.

I had "Reunited" on 45 vinyl when I was a kid. STFU.

And before you get crazy, I also had Rod Stewart, Kiss, the Village People and the ultimate disco hit, Freak Out, on 45's as well.

Wow, I remember our 6th grade teacher had a record player and we could play music on it during indoor recess in the winter (back when Indiana had a winter--god I'm sounding like a geezer allready),
Pop Music,
a song called Cars ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLKFEq6Zu14 ),
I so wanted to see Debbie Harris naaaked (I managed to score the penthouse she was in...but damn it! she just talked and posed with her cloths on  Sad Panda ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbMYwuAHK_4&mode=related&search=  (omg! I need to get back down south again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7i6MfZlmTA&mode=related&search=, I miss Panama),
Reo Speedwagon (how the fuck can the go from kicking in the 70's to the suck?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFD4jHE6qSY & I was gonna post I can't fight this feeling...but fuck it! that is the suck! ,
man even hearing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zb2V9OAhM40 brought back memories.
Great now I'm gonna have to watch a bunch of 80's stuff again.

Wow!  I want one of these toys! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z00WrgIdcio&mode=related&search=
