I remember when that song was NEW, for Christ's sake. It sucked then, and it sucks even more now. Although not as bad as Freeze Frame. I want to kick J. Geils and his whole band in the nuts for inflicting that godforsaken album on an unsuspecting public.

I dig S&G though, so mine is all good. My wife has a good one too- The Joker by The Steve Miller Band. Lots of fun memories associated with that tune.

Edit- Nebu snuck in while I was posting. I was born less than 2 full months into the 70s. Any older than that and you are REALLY old  evil

May 1976 "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney & Wings

And that's not bad luck, besides some good passable stuff in the 1970s, and the late 60's, most of my birthday's top songs are the suck.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.

"Upside Down" by Diana Ross. Would almost be worth it to be born five years later and get "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits.

All you fuckers that were born in the 80s can just fuck off, kthx. N00blers.

If my math is correct, that is most likely the song that was playing on the radio when I was conceived. Of course, then I looked up my wedding day and it was Wannabe by the spice girls...

1984 - "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper

That would explain my strange fascination with Cyndi Lauper, even though I don't really listen to her music in any way, shape or form.

Different styles.  Some people write a large volume of material with a few gems in it.  Others write a few high quality pieces and that's it.  Quality or not, the guy certainly had a knack for commercial appeal.

The Police - Every Breath You Take

I'll take it compared to most of the crap in this thread.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

"I Honestly Love You" -- Olivia Newton John

I honestly had no idea that Olivia Newton John was even famous in 1974.  I'd thought it was much later, like she got her big break in Grease.

UK -- Fernando -- ABBA
AU -- Same shit song.

I think I shall now go listen to my old Bad Religion and Minor Threat vinyls to compensate.

I think I lost the internets on this one:

My Song  -  Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Previous song for my year = "Tell Her About It" by Billy Joel. My song was followed by "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton.

My song if I had been born a year earlier or later would have been either: "Jack and Diane" by John Cougar (not horrible I guess) or  "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince & the Revolution. Yeah, I guess I missed out.

EDIT: Cleaned up code.

Strazos, You saying Jack and Diane is "Not Horrible, I Guess" makes you look like a douchebag. Like, not just a regular douchebag. But King Douchebag.

Jack and Diane is a masterpiece. it's accepted as such by the general public.

It may not be my favorite song or anything, but that was certainly a poor choice of words.

Really?  It was the 2nd longest #1 of the 80's (Physical by Olivia Newton John was #1.. go Wikipedia.)

Then again, by the time you were listening to and remembering music 80's pop was long-dead.   Poor 80's pop.

No, you could have done much worse. At least people got laid to your song.. or copped a feel at a high school dance.  :-D

Yeah, but unless you were alive at the time, it would be hard to remember it because that was the only song Kim Carnes ever had any real success with. Christ, I had to look up her damn name and I have been known to be mildly obsessed at times with the 80s-pop.
