For anyone who never got to play VtMB and has been having trouble finding a copy of it, you can now get it on Steam for $20.

The Steam version includes the official 1.2 patch (which fixes a bunch of the bugs) but NOT the community-produced unofficial patches.  It sounds like the unofficial patches still work, though, as long as you turn off auto-updating on the game (so Steam doesn't mistake the patched files for out-of-date files).

At $20 I'm almost tempted to rebuy it just so if I ever get the urge to play through it for an 8th time I'll be able to reinstall without having to find my old CDs.

It's also on Direct2Drive for the same price.  I know a lot of people don't like to deal with Steam at all.

Wow. I just picked it up a few weeks ago brand new/cheapo for less than that.

The community patches to like 2.4 or whatever they are at now really do make the game a lot more enjoyable.

The Malkavian dialog is worth more than $10 alone.

I bought it for $50 when it came out and I'd buy it for $50 again if I didn't still have it.

Jesus, I had no idea how badly this game had aged graphically.  It's still a great game, but character closeups really make you realize how far we've come with geometry and textures.

The last time I checked on the Steam forums, yes, but you should disable automatic updates.

Yes, I can confirm.  Took advantage of the $9.99 dea (since I traded the game in years ago unfinished) l and applied the latest 4.1 community patch from Fileplanet.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate.
