Recently, I played 'Rise of Legends'. I liked it - nice backstory, good artwork and not too complex RTS.
It is, of course, an almost identical clone of the old World of Warcraft single player RTS games - including a doomed young hero who 'TURNS TO THE DARK SIDE/EATS THE LICH KING/BECOMES INFESTED WITH ZERGS'.
I'm wondering if Microsoft is playing a very long game indeed and going to use 'Legends' as a content springboard fdor some upcoming MMORPG in the WoW mould?

You'll have to do better than that.

Pity. The backstory - Da Vincian steampunks vs Vitrified desert Jihadis vs Aztec solar gods - is a lot more fun than the usual Human vs Orc vs Zombie threeway. Pitch a franchise MMORPG to Bill. See what he says. The worst he can do is fire you and erase all record of you across all systems.

Well, just be grateful he didn't erase all record of you across all systems then.

Is the game any good if you're not a massive RTS fan? Or not even a big RTS fan?
I recall EB having many copies of it in their last cheapass sale, so I expectit to also be in their next one..

Based on the demo I would say no.

This Schild is actually an elaborate simulacrum. The original was disposed of years ago. Why do you think he prefers the desert heat?

I think that's a little unfair. I would say it is as good as the last of the Warcraft RTS games - and, in terms of backstory and context, better.

I think that's a little unfair. If they don't manage to make the demo not suck, why would I expect more from the real game?

Why am I homeless? Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question. They called it The Prayer, its answer was law Mommy come back 'cause the water's all gone

There were boats in Warcraft III, but they played a more limited role than they did in 2. They also had air units in 2l, but not to the extent that 3 did.
