I couldn't stand 24 for the stupid Kim tricks.  It takes a lot for me to break suspension but I rapidly got sick of the heavy-handed "plot complications".

I think 24's biggest failing is that it wouldn't remove cast members. I mean, Kim should have been gone after season 1, because her season 2 arc was just fucking retarded and detracted from the main story. Making her work at CTU AND sleep with Jack's new partner was even more retarded. The show doesn't need more hawtness, it needs ass-kicking, believable stories. The emphasis on sticking with the same characters, despite the fact that the same characters shouldn't be around (the president's ex-wife, his former manager, Kim) just hurt the show a lot.

Yep, Kim was such a horrible dead weight to the entire show.  The show just seemed to be a parade of casting errors.  They'd take anyone interesting off the air and replace them with complete douchebags, and like you said, keep the annoying plot killers as long as humanly possible.  At least Chase only got one season to muddy up the screen with his TEEN ANGST GRRRR brand of counter terrorism.

To be fair, I think the producers have got this message, I remembering hearing one of them descriibe the great pains gone to in order to avoid any more 'bobcat moments'. And they did seem comfortable removing cast members, but only in a very speciifc way, by horrible painful death, I almost think they were worried about letting anyone leave through other means, just in case they needed someone to kill later on.

Also, season 4, which I admittedly haven't watched any of because it's not on DVD yet, seems to have avoided the probelm by dumping everyone bar Jack.

I don't think Kim is a bad actress, per se, based on Cuthbert's role in "The Girl Next Door." A must see film if you like teen sex comedies, IMO. It's just that the situations they put here in were so fucking idiotic, not to mention every time she got her hands on a gun, she was dead set on giving the gun to the guy who was going to kill her. GAH!

I have never seen 24, so I know nothing about her role there. However, she is so fuggin' HAWT that I can forgive almost anything. Especially if she nudes up soon, the little tease.

It is a very good film. Plus the soundtrack is incredible.

I saw the Serenity screening again last Thursday (before heading out to Ouray, CO for the weekend, mm Orvis Hot Springs)..

The chick who plays Kaylee (Jewel Staite, hawt) was there, which was cool. She did a Q&A at the end and signed Serenity posters.

I haven't been following the Serenity stuff too closely, but they said that there is a possibility of another 2 movies.. which is hard to believe since they killed 4 out of 8 characters, but hey - flashbacks for the win!

Edit: Spoilers are bad, mmmmk.

It was a joke! Shees, you people are very touchy. It wouldn't be funny if I had to put it in green.

I haven't seen it, nor did I care. I just saw what Furiously said and took the necessary precautions.

They're quietly releasing some short clips as part of a viral/hype marketing thing for Serenity. They're videos of River's "sessions" while in Alliance care. At first, the Serenity people denied any knowledge of the clips but its pretty obvious that they did them, especially since the other person in the clips is Joss Whedon (you never see his face).

Session 416: Released on Aug 16 on IFilm from an "unknown" source

Session 1: Released on Aug 23 from a person named "John Dowses" (anagram for Joss Whedon)

Session 22: Released on Aug 25

Session 165: Released on Aug 29

Obviously, Joss Whedon is a fan of the Pretender.  Those clips are rather similar in setting to the flashback scenes from that show, where Jerod is being trained.

I'm looking forward to the movie, a friend of mine has the DVD's of the show, and I've been watching them.  It's pretty good.
