Yeah, I think both of them are on record as saying something similar, too.

Hell, Joan Rivers had a wonderful bit soliloquy about it on one of Louis C.K.'s shows. Never turn down work, because you never know when you might not find it again.

Add Morgan Freeman to that list.

Or Ben Kingsley.

Remember to add to the pay cheque the shooting dates - Uwe Boll's entire modus operandi in getting some of his larger names is to minimise the time they need to be on set. So an actor can perhaps pick up a role (and the pay) in between the shooting of another film.

I can't believe we're having this converssation.

Acting's a job ?  Really ?

Like any other contracting gig, the actors who do best take the jobs they're offered.  If they're good, they'll stand out.  For every shite film and script they do, they're increasing the chances of a really good one happening because of the wide net they cast.

All the actors mentioned in this thread have REAL stinkers attached to them.  Do we remember them much ?  We do not.

Or as Alec Baldwin put it:

Quote
People don’t realize actors are like plumbers. When you invite a plumber to your house and say, “I want you to put this sink in my bathroom,” the plumber doesn’t say, “I’m not going to install that sink, it’s hideous. You have the worst taste in sinks!” No, he just says, “OK,” and he puts it in.

If plumbers had a few million in the bank, and everyone knew the results when a plumber put in a sink, and that plumber was risking no longer getting paid millions if his sinks looked ugly...

2020 will be the year I gave up all hope.

Shame she applies that to plastic surgery.

If they put in a string of bad performances under good directors or can't sell a movie that on paper should have done well they might have trouble finding work, but nobody is going to pass on Jason Statham for being in Dungeon Siege.

Except those that watched Dungeon Siege.

Or, indeed, any Statham film that wasn't Snatch.

Also LS&2SB, but his role was relatively minor. Still liked him in it. Such a great flick.

Yeah Tommy, before Ze Germans get there...

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail
