GO CLEVELAND! A QB and the top tackle to protect him! Quinn did look pretty pissed however, I hope this isn't a long-term morale problem.
One other off-the-cuff reaction:
I don't care how good Johnson is, another receiver was not the answer for Detroit unless they could have traded down for multiple picks. This won't end well.

Yes that was some head-up-thinking by Cleveland to trade for that extra first round pick to nab Quinn. I don't care how good Johnson is, another receiver was not the answer for Detroit unless they could have traded down for multiple picks. This won't end well.
When was the last time things ended well for Detroit?

The Year of the Browns? Bah, I gave up on that after Modell fucked the city. I'd be a happy absent fan if it turned out to be the case, though. Too bad Browns coverage in Cincinnati is less extensive than coverage of the Rock Paper Scissors championships.

Bengals drafting ok, this year's class is pretty boring. Although for the fourth year straight the Bills added more reasons for me to like them, Lynch is a fucking badass.
Also Ted Ginn at 9th? Crazy, and I'm a huge Buckeye fan. Somebody wanted the next Hestor really bad.

This will definately probably be the year for the Browns. Probably for the Cavs (next year) and Indians as well. All because after 31 years I'm finally leaving Cleveland and will be moving to Atlanta in about 4 weeks. So, I'm sure as soon as I move away they'll start winning championships just to make sure I am fully punished after my 31 years of suffering.
Anyway....
The Browns draft was incredible. 2 of the top 10 players and a second round corner in Eric Wright (no, not that Eric Wright, he's dead) that will probably be a starter. I just hope he can keep away from any off-field issues. That could be 3 immediate starters.

When was the last time things ended well for Detroit?
When the English didn't entirely sack the place in 1812? Since then? Nope. Nothing. No idea.

Getting Quinn was a good move for the Browns, but I'm not sure he'll help. At least we know he's well-coached, but no idea if Crennell can get out of Quinn what Weis did. As for Detroit, they had no choice. Johnson was the best player left, and I'm going to guess they couldn't get anybody to give them shit for the pick. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, they are still going to suck. Matt Millen is a bad moon.
The Pack however, got quantity, got a decent d-lineman and running back. I just wish they'd picked up a tight end earlier in the draft than their final pick.

Randy Moss for a 4th round pick? And he took a massive pay cut?
So this year Tom Brady gets to pass to Wes Welker, Randy Moss, and Donte Stallworth.

Moss is done as a premier receiver. He is a cancer on the locker room.
But with Brady to throw to him and Welker and Stallworth as other options, Maroney taking more carries and Dillion as a changeup back, yes, the Pats will be fucking scary this year.

That's really great that Moss can be rewarded for his stellar work ethic by getting traded from the sad-assed Raiders to the early Super Bowl favorites.

I was actually surprised at how calm Keyshawn was through most of last year. But yeah, they really didn't need him this year, what with drafting two wideouts. Their offense's shitty performance last year wasn't Keyshawn's fault, the O-Coordinator completely lost the game plan. He never seemed willing to commit to the run or the pass, tried to hard to mix things up even when they didn't need to be mixed, and I think thoroughly confused the fuck out of Delhomme. Not having a Steven Davis bullrush back hurt like hell, too, as Foster's too brittle and the young kid they drafted last year (Williams? I forget his name) didn't really take over like he should have.
But fuck Me-Shawn

Dillion is gone I believe. Moss is only 30. The key will be if he can be controlled in the locker room. Winning solves a lot of locker room issues though.

The key will be if he can be controlled in the locker room. Unpossible, unless he sprains a tongue along with the labia he's had sprained the last 3 years.

Moss isn't a huge problem ala TO, he's a problem because he doesn't fucking care about the sport of football. Moss is a lazy sack of shit who will take plays off because he's Randy Moss. I dont think he will last a season unless he's been scared straight playing for such a fucking whackass franchise, in which case wtg daaa raidaz!!

Speaking of, just what the fuck happened to the Raiders franchise after Gruden left? I mean, Callahan takes Gruden's team to the Super Bowl and loses, then the whole franchise just falls apart. Callahan got fired after a season in which he can't even get the vets to play like they give a shit. Norv Turner takes the job and does his usual pisspoor job of cobbling together a piss poor team with QB's that shouldn't even strap on a WFL helmet. Fire Turner and rehire Art Shell, who wasn't a great coach before but now has no clue how to survive in the new salary cap NFL. And they rely on Aaron Brooks for offense? I just can't understand it. The Raiders used to be a feared franchise, even when they were barely making the playoffs. Now they are just a monumental joke. Did Al Davis get Alzheimer's or something?

Well I just KNEW Detroit would take Johnson. Millien seems pathologically unable to make good deals. Despite that, I thought their draft was above average this year but they seem unable to develop talent. Lions were a playoff team before the Millen regime btw. With Charlie Batch even.
1. Fire Millen 2. Fords sell the team to an owner who wants to win (ala Blank and the Falcons) 3. Get a gold star coach instead of these obscure coordinators. 4. Profit.

Fuck the Lions the Pistons are going to the NBA finals and the Sharks have handed the terrible Wings the series on a platter even though they should have swept if they could play two periods of hockey per game instead of one.
Stupid Detroit has had enough luck, the Lions will continue to suck major ass to keep things balanced.
Also the Lions aren't moving as quickly as the Pack although they may pass the Vikings at this rate unless one of those QB's turns out to be a NFL worthy starter. The Bears will win that division even though they have no QB in 2008 and 2009 I would wager unless Farve has one more run in him (stranger things have happened) or Peterson completely goes off, which I dont think will happen.

Steelers did OK though I was hoping Revis would drop to them as they could use a cover corner. Getting two outside rushers should help that. Assuming the o-line doesn't decline due to age they should do pretty well. Until they run into the 17-0 Pats in the championship game and lose 45-13. That team is fucking terrifying.
Quinn has a kind of Tim Couch vibe to him IMO. But certainly worth a shot where they got him. If he develops, the Browns could make some noise in a few years when the core of the Steelers and Ravens are in the old folks home.
