Since we're bringing back old movies.  I saw this again on ONDemand.  I used to love this movie when I was younger, it's so bad it's good.  I mean just check out this.

Only movie that ever gave me nightmares.  Still not sure why.

Castration assembly line is reason enough.

I didn't get some of the humor at the time, and it did nothing for me in later years. I think I remember enjoying it once though smiley

It also has the dubious honor of a sex scene so bad that even as a single teenage boy I'd fast forward through it.

I've always thought this was a terrible film.

I remember space herpes, some robot, and Anjelica Huston.  I think her character became my proto-typical female pirate from then on.

I don't think anyone denies it is pretty bad. But bad can be fun!

I remember not hating Cutthroat Island when I saw it, but I was also 21 at the time.  I saw it again recently and wow.. it was worse than I could have ever imagined.

Ice Pirates; not as bad as Cutthroat Island!  Not an inspiring tagline, but one that fits.  It's not a good movie, not even in the 'things int he 80s that were so bad they were good' way.

The worst pirate movie is The Pirate Movie.

The Transcendent One: AH... THE ROGUE CONSTRUCT.

Well, speaking of pirate musicals, Cutthroat Island can't get an F because it has really, really good music.   Just like Conan the Barbarian is elevated by its musical score to a work of operatic art, Cutthroat Island is lifted to the heights of maybe a D+.

I just seem to remember Mary Crosby in a space princess outfit doing funny things to my private parts at the time as being one of the things I liked about this movie. I was 13.

Since we are on the tangent of rating pirate movies...

Best pirate movie: Yellowbeard.

The entertainment suite in this movie is what got me interested in augmented reality as a kid.

In junior high I took part in some after-school drama classes. This movie happened to be the end of my teacher's strange film career.
