The Presence of Your Vehicle Has Been Documented

on: October 20, 2009, 10:26:48 AM

Saw it this weekend with the girlfriend, was pretty entertained.  I wouldn't say it was a /good/ movie though, as it kind of started to fall apart near the end.
Watch it in the theater if you're bored and nothing else looks goods, but you won't be missing anything waiting for this on DVD.  Worth watching for the explosions and whatnot though, and the plot of the 80% of the movie was pretty good.

Necro!

I watched this with the ole lady last night. Entertaining, worth the rental. I kept guessing the wrong shit, so I applaud them for not making things transparent. I don't like Jamie Foxx though, he sucks.

Semi-necro.

Saw this a couple of days ago.  Despite a weak-ish ending, my wife and I both rather liked it.  Easy to recommend as a rental.

Holy shit that is fucking genius.  Yes, that's the movie but the TF2 version looks a whole lot better.

I actually Netflixed this movie because the TF2 video reminded me that it existed and that I hadn't seen it.   awesome, for real

Good premise, and I didn't mind Jamie Foxx, but the ending really sucked.

This is probably a case of a suit thinking the original script was great but needed a "mass market" ending.

This is one thing I have liked about the Saw movies (even though they've steadily declined in quality), which this was IMO a more "Holloywood" ripoff of.  Jigsaw's most defining character trait is that he has a plan for everything, and for all their various failings, the writers never rob him of that by having him get outmaneuvered or caught unawares.

Arise!

Whew, the ending of this one bothered me so much I had to go and find out what the hell happened. It's a big switcheroo that doesn't fit the rest of the movie. A staff review on Rotten Tomatoes said that Foxx had a clause in his contract requiring him to win in the finale if he signed on to the project (?wtf). So, what happened was a sort of anti-finale.

I just wanted to sit down and watch Butler's character unleash mayhem & devastation for two hours, but the movie spurted out and went from gusher to drool, fast.

Every now and then I like to root for the bad guy. (Not that we need Star Wars in more threads, but I wish I could have rooted for Anakin the way I rooted for Clyde Shelton. I wanted to see him break everything down, even though it was wrong.).

Dear Diary,
Jackpot!
