Bored while playing the game you are paying a monthly fee for?

PLAY THE GAME WITHIN THE GAME WHILE WAITING FOR THE FUN!

You'll soon be able to play bejeweled from within WoW

No joke. Official game.

There's something vaguely depressing about that. I'm bored while flying to to my raid, I'ma play some bejeweled!

Lest we take this too far, it's separate from EQ's gems because it's not Blizzard doing it.  It's popcap trying to find another way for folks to shove money at them.. so they coded an addon for WOW.

Me? I'll still AFK during those "arduous" 7 minute flights cross-continent, or watch some TV while waiting to hear the 'ok let's get buffing' call on vent before a raid.

I watch sports, or go to the can, or do laundry. All are good for the pre-raid gathering cycle.

I think of them as built-in reminders to take a screen break and stretch my back :D

I generally take being bored as a sign to log out and do something else  Ohhhhh, I see.

During raid downtime there's always the "Internet" addon, accessible by pressing alt-tab or playing in windowed mode.

Reality is- herding cats for a 25 man takes a bit of time. It's not like you're playing gems while waiting for your mana to regenerateswamp poop

I alt-tab out and surf the web while waiting for a raid. Usually takes us about 30 minutes to put everything together.

Windowed mode gives me a massive FPS hit for some reason and alt-tabbing causes crashes.

I welcome our new Popcap overlords.

It's a long shot I know, but I have issues with alt tabbing while in 25 man raids if I have QuestHelper turned on.  From what I've seen it leaks memory like mad when your group is larger than 2 or 3 people.

Anyways, I'm sure it won't help you, but just in case.

And I bet anything that my wife will have this addon within milliseconds of it being released.  I can just hear it now:  Me:  "How could we possibly have wiped on Curator?"  Wife: "Ohh, well I haven't had to cast a heal since Attuman, so I opened up bejeweled."

Nah, even addonless.

It's a strange one.

I have the same issue.  The only thing I run is Gatherer, and it will still do it even if I disable that.  If I play for more than an hour or two and alt-tab more than 5-6 times, it will crash.  It isn't leaking any detectable memory that I can find, it just... dies.  And if I keep my machine active for more than 3-4 weeks without a shutdown, eventually it won't render graphics properly and requires a reboot to run again (not sure how much of that is related to software vs. hardware drivers).

I'd almost consider subscribing to WoW to play Bejeweled for free.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

I just picked it up. Holy shit are PopCap's programmers good. It's so slick it feels like a standalone program instead of a module written in LUA. It's got its own sounds, graphics, and a shitload of features and only uses about 350ish k of memory.

When it announced my 'Level Up' to my guildies, I couldn't stop giggling.

Best addon yet.

I'm still waiting for CRS to add poker to WW2OL to give something to do while guarding the bunker. Unlike Gems in EQ or WoW it's completely in character.

Eve seems more like a blackjack game.

Yes.

EVE can barley manage the bare bones UI features native to all MMOs, let alone custom shit.

Best.  Mod.  Ever.

I suck at Bejeweled but I want to log in just to play.  I love the little dings.

This is the only thing right now preventing me from opening my warhammer box which I've been trying to resist given that I don't have enough time to play WoW.

Agreed.  EVE can "barley" manage to make its game playable via the UI.

However, due to either divine intervention or outrageously good fortune it has the advantage of being fun in itself so it doesn't need a subgame.  That, and EVE players are a cut above WOW players and have graduated from this.

That said I'm now playing WOW on a part time basis

Witty banter not included.

Can I play which ever version of EVE you played? Seems to be a lot better then the one I remember  Ohhhhh, I see.

Also: Curse you spell check! Though, I suppose I didn't spell anything incorrectly there.
