So....it's by the Wachowskis, has John Goodman as the dad, and several other recognizable faces as well, oh yeah, live action/green screen combo.....I don't know what to make of this whole thing except for....wtf.  Anyway, here's a link to a trailer:

I don't think Goodman can be as animated (har pun!) as Speed's dad was.   His heart would explode.

If you're going to make your movie look like a cartoon, why not just animate it?

Over and out.

Howard the Duck?  Everything looked normal in that except the duck and Mr. Rooney after he changed.

The thought of Lea Thompson getting it on with a 3 foot tall duck scarred me for life though.  I've never been able to accept her as a romantic interest in movies because of that.

I was surprised to see that the [roduction values are through the roof, but honestly a live action Speed Racer?  It's like, it has the disadvantage of seeming unoriginal but the advantage that not many people will remember it anyway so they can transform it into something else entirely.

Ummm.  Yeah.

Or.  No.

Won't even waste a rental on it.

The kid playing Speed Racer was good in The Girl Next Door, though.  However, my judgement of that movie may have been clouded by the hotness of Elisha Cuthbert

Might be cool if it gets some 3-D treatment. Other than that... The Wachowskis could have made anything. What's wrong with them?

What's wrong with them?

One hit wonders (original Matrix) that struck gold with an unoriginal main plot (we're not real, we're figments of imagination) along with innovative camera work and special effects?
