Previously, I would have voted Mi-Tes for best Avatar when she/he had the picture of a menacing looking baby with the caption 'For the Horde!" which split me right up.

Currently, however, I find myself amused and mesmerized by Righ's hybridization of WoW and Ipods :)

(For the record, my avatar is a photograph from Hubble taken just inside the event horizon of the nearest black hole)

Yep, that's Denver. Wee! I think it might have had something to do with putting skyscrapers up with their broadsides into the winds from the mountains, so the 45'ed it to have the corners into the wind. I heard that at a cocktail party many years ago, so who knows if that's right or not.

My residence isn't actually downtown, but I do spend the vast majority of my waking hours at that address.  :roll:

Actually, the shitty part with all the turns and angles is original downtown, then they laid out everything else more organized.

Mine's not straight on. I'm looking at the 'camera' down and to the right. The lighting on the left side of his face kicks ass...and the dead eyes. I was going for a Grand Moff Tarken vibe.

I find that when people tend to keep the same avatar, I start to assume that they look like said avatar. This is an ok thing for Ironwood, but perhaps a less ok thing for Abagadro. Hopefully no one thinks I look like Turl...

Fear the overlit forehead of doom. My in-game microportrait looks like a space alien with a giant head and two ovaloid black eyes due to that lighting.

I'm apparently not allowed to have an avatar since nothing I've tried has worked.  I used to have one, but when I went to change it last time, the new one never showed up and now i"ve just given up and don't have one.

I tend to associate the avatar with the poster but in more of a "I'm looking for a post in a thread by so-n-so and find it by looking at the avatars" sort fo way.  That's why people who change theirs all the time throw me off, I actually have to look at your damn names.

I always get kicked out of arcades for trying to loot the moles.

They carry tickets which dispense out the front of the machine. Took me a while to figure that out as well. I also found that if I grouped with a 3 others we could kill every mole and get the maximium number of tickets.  Not that I was min/maxing at whack-a-mole.

Okay Schild your new avatar (Shatner) and the caption is hilarious.

However, poking fun at Shatner is near Blasphemy.

The thing is I actually like that rendition of the song.  There is something so Shatnerish about it that just makes me grin.

I do too... of course, it does help that Joe Jackson and Ben Folds turned it into a "proper" song.  I'm not sure if I could have handled Captain Kirk talking his way through the entire thing.  It's very clever, in my opinion.
