Except unlike this movie their gear all looks like shit and none of them are in this good a shape.

I'd say the movie is purely based on Darkon (http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/darkon/)... which pretty much lies at the pinnacle of the genre, stereotypes included. If you want chics who'll sleep with you for game coin though, you'll probably have to do some WoD or Nero. It's unbelievably corny of course, but I thought it was quite enjoyable. It's more of a romantic comedy with a big helping of nerdy references than a full-on homage to geek culture. All in all I think it's worth watching unless you hate romcoms. |
