Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 13, 2008, 02:44:01 AM Final Fantasy IV DS was just announced this morning for June 22. Odd that they'd have it release so close to FFT: A2. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 13, 2008, 02:50:40 AM Not really. DS games are a dime a dozen for them. They just crank them out and everyone buys them. I'm definitely getting IV as it seems like something that had a little fucking effort put into it. But man, Squeenix is all about the money grab ever since FFXII/DQVIII. This Final Fantasy VII Rebirth shit has gone too far what with people only really wanting an FF7 remake.
Basically: Forget VII and remember VI, you motherfuckers. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: MrHat on April 13, 2008, 05:23:01 AM I don't see anything I want to play.
:ye_gods: Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Moaner on April 13, 2008, 05:51:33 AM I seem to be buying more DS games than anything else anymore. The World Ends With You, Etrian Odyssey II, and FFIV will be mine. Also, I'm really looking forward to Twilight of the Arnor.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 13, 2008, 11:53:40 AM I don't see anything I want to play. :ye_gods: I've never bought a GTA game before, but I'm seriously thinking about picking up GTA IV just based on all the multiplayer modes. Other likely purchases include Age of Conan (unless I get into an open beta or something before it releases, and I find out it sucks), Ninja Gaiden II, Lego Indiana Jones, and Operation Darkness. If I had a Wii or DS, that list would probably double, since I love Mario Kart games, and I'd like to try The World Ends With You, FFT: A2, and the FF Wii Ware game. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Riggswolfe on April 13, 2008, 12:03:15 PM I don't see anything I want to play. :ye_gods: Persona 3 FES is the only must buy on that list from my first glance. In fact, if I have to sell plasma to get it I will. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 13, 2008, 12:08:09 PM Fes is pretty great, dude.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: stu on April 13, 2008, 08:18:46 PM :-) Happy Tree Friends :-)
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yegolev on April 14, 2008, 06:06:20 AM River King sequel on DS makes Disturbed Yegolev angry.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: stray on April 14, 2008, 06:08:35 AM GT5 will make me happy. About friggin time.
GTA will make me happy. Wow, umm... Myst on DS? Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Sky on April 14, 2008, 06:36:19 AM Deadliest Catch for PC is listed twice. I love that show. If it weren't for WW2, I'd be lobstering off Maine.
Anyway, Mass Effect PC, if it doesn't slip. Then Spore in September and GTA4 PC later this year. That's all that's on my radar this year. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yoru on April 14, 2008, 07:41:26 AM Wasn't Disgaea 3 supposed to be out Q2? Or was that Q3?
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: KallDrexx on April 14, 2008, 08:10:27 AM Wow, umm... Myst on DS? lol Myst was released on DS long ago in europe and got shit reviews. I woudln't get your hopes up that the US version will be any different. Deadliest Catch for PC is listed twice. I love that show. If it weren't for WW2, I'd be lobstering off Maine. I love the show, not sure how a game based off of it would be though. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 14, 2008, 11:01:50 AM Wasn't Disgaea 3 supposed to be out Q2? August. /drool I don't think I've ever been as excited for a game as I am for Disgaea 3. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Stormwaltz on April 14, 2008, 01:30:56 PM 4/16
Okami - Wii - Have it for PS2, but it seems made for this platform. 4/23 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES - PS2 Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor - PC (download) - Though I'll actually wait until they bundle this and the last expansion together in a box. 4/30 Neverwinter Nights 2 Adventure Pack: Mysteries of Westgate - PC (download) - I'll think about it. NWN2's girthy sysreqs made it run ponderously on my machine, even when nothing in paritcular was going on. And I still haven't bought the first expansion. 5/21 Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures - PC - Preordered. Supreme Ruler 2020 - PC - Like the last one, I like the concept, but it will probably be too complex to actually play. 5/28 Mass Effect - PC - I get this free, so I guess it doesn't count. Sure will be nice to finally play the game I spent three years on. Assuming my machine can even run it. Looks like this spring will be mainly MMORPGs and mods for me. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 14, 2008, 01:33:33 PM The ink isn't liquidy in the Wii version, the colors are washed out, and everyone says the controls were tacked on.
Btw, it was MADE for the PS2. :oh_i_see: Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 14, 2008, 01:52:42 PM The ink isn't liquidy in the Wii version, the colors are washed out, and everyone says the controls were tacked on. Btw, it was MADE for the PS2. :oh_i_see: The Wii version does support 480p and 16:9 widescreen though. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 14, 2008, 01:54:17 PM The ink isn't liquidy in the Wii version, the colors are washed out, and everyone says the controls were tacked on. Btw, it was MADE for the PS2. :oh_i_see: The Wii version does support 480p and 16:9 widescreen though. Not good enough. Mostly because it's one of those obvious things. As in, if it didn't support 16:9/480p on the Wii, THEN that would be a seperate thing to complain about. Also, it's Zelda with a fox. Bored me to furry tears. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 14, 2008, 01:57:12 PM The ink isn't liquidy in the Wii version, the colors are washed out, and everyone says the controls were tacked on. So supporting 480p and 16:9 widescreen isn't good enough, but the ink not being liquidy is something worth mentioning? So supporting 480p and 16:9 widescreen isn't good enough, but the ink not being liquidy is something worth mentioning? Well no, the ink not being liquidy is what doesn't make sense. The Wii could handle it and it would feel like you were painting with the wiimote. Or at least Larping a painter. And for whatever reason, it's not present. It's the lack of it that's surprising. Just like it would've been if they hadn't added 16:9 and 480p. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Dtrain on April 14, 2008, 03:48:02 PM List seems very light on 360 content.
Time for xbox 3, amirite? :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 14, 2008, 05:23:40 PM List seems very light on 360 content. Time for xbox 3, amirite? :awesome_for_real: The list is pretty light on everything. The PS3 only has two big exclusives on the list, and one of them is a $40 demo. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yegolev on April 15, 2008, 07:19:39 AM If I'm not using the pointer to paint in Okami, there's no point in getting the Wii version. I don't recall if the PS2 version had prog-scan or 16:9, but many PS2 games do so I still don't see that as a big whoopdedoo for the Wii version.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Sky on April 15, 2008, 08:31:37 AM Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor - PC (download) - Though I'll actually wait until they bundle this and the last expansion together in a box. These days I hold out for a good all-in-one expansion bundle. I hate that they are starting to release Gold versions (original + 1st expansion) and then release a second expansion. C'mon, guys, Gold should be original + expansions. Neverwinter Nights 2 Adventure Pack: Mysteries of Westgate - PC (download) - I'll think about it. NWN2's girthy sysreqs made it run ponderously on my machine, even when nothing in paritcular was going on. And I still haven't bought the first expansion. Hey Stormy, any w0rd on Dragon Age release dates? :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Morfiend on April 15, 2008, 09:53:25 AM Here is mine.

Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Bunk on April 15, 2008, 10:12:51 AM I've had a reciept for my GTA4 preorder since Feb 17th. Probably be the only game I buy this quarter.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: MrHat on April 15, 2008, 10:38:02 AM I've had a reciept for my GTA4 preorder since Feb 17th. Probably be the only game I buy this quarter. Ya, I'll probably pick up GTA4 but that will probably sit in plastic until the Fall :( Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 15, 2008, 11:23:51 AM 4/30: GTAIV PS3 So, not at all interested in the 360 exlcusive DLC then I take it? Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 15, 2008, 11:27:52 AM 4/30: GTAIV PS3 So, not at all interested in the 360 exlcusive DLC then I take it? I won't even finish the game. It's just the first GTA I'm gonna give a good chance. Also, Dual Shock 3 :) Also, My PS3 isn't likely to die on an 80 hour game. My 360 has been relegated to arcade games. I fear it's just gonna blow up. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yegolev on April 15, 2008, 11:36:16 AM Chaos Wars (damn you Shadow Hearts! This game will be total shit!) What? Fuck. Spectral Force 3 (damn you Atlus!) Agreed. I have two of the Atlus Amazon coupons and I'll be using both. Lego Indiana Jones PS3 (hur hur hur) Ninja Gaiden 2 Etrian Odyssey 2 Yep. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 Nope. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 15, 2008, 11:37:04 AM Chaos Wars is a tactics mashup title from a shitty company with shitty gameplay, but it features all of the Aruze characters.
I am so pissed. Also, Gungrave characters. Grrrrrr. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Riggswolfe on April 15, 2008, 12:29:43 PM Hmmm...Spectral Force 3 actually looks really interesting. I like the sort of anime look of the visuals.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 15, 2008, 12:34:21 PM Hmmm...Spectral Force 3 actually looks really interesting. I like the sort of anime look of the visuals. As far as Atlus games go, I'm more interested in Operation Darkness. I'm also completely shocked by the lack of people here who are going to pick up Wii Fit. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yegolev on April 15, 2008, 12:41:46 PM I am not a fatty.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: stray on April 15, 2008, 01:34:17 PM Hell, I'd get it if I still had a Wii. Cool idea. Not sure how it's going to be all that helpful though... Is there extra hardware attached to it -- like something to mimic resistance?
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 15, 2008, 01:37:32 PM No resistance, no. It's just stretching and all-around a stupid stupid thing.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: MrHat on April 16, 2008, 12:09:36 PM Any word on GTA4 PS3 bundles?
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on April 16, 2008, 12:12:36 PM There isn't one. Just liek there aren't any PS3 GTA ads Microsoft paid assloads of money to insure the PS3 version dies quietly.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Velorath on April 16, 2008, 12:15:23 PM Any word on GTA4 PS3 bundles? Last I heard, there might a 40GB bundle coming in Europe a week or two after the game releases, but that's about it (haven't heard what price it will be either). Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yegolev on April 16, 2008, 12:37:18 PM I'm likely to get the 360 version of GTAIV because, you know, achievements.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: MrHat on April 16, 2008, 12:47:39 PM I just don't want to move my 360 out of my entertainment center and into my apt.
Yes, I just said I'd rather buy a PS3 then move my entertainment center around. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Bunk on April 16, 2008, 01:06:02 PM The PS3 version deserves to die quietly after it made me wait an additional 6 months for my game on the 360 (according to rumor anyway).
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Sky on April 30, 2008, 12:07:12 PM Just wanted to share this list of PC stuff I stumbled across:

Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Yoru on April 30, 2008, 01:37:29 PM I think he's just subconsciously picking up on the fact that I bought a Wii yesterday, and it burnsssssssses him. :oh_i_see:

What I meant to say was OH WAO, WAITING FOR CONSOLE RELEASES OF THE PC EXCLUSIVES) OK, that made me choke on the ice from my soda. Well played. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Sairon on May 02, 2008, 12:59:05 AM Wii Fit is genius, all the Nintendo fanboys are going to defend it, and they're going to both buy it and like it even if they don't. All while the soccer moms also picks it up and loves it for its "deep gameplay". Nintendo is doing this in stages, next up you have the electric hand mixer controller, which will be hailed for its innovation and gameplay possibilities.
Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: schild on May 02, 2008, 01:00:53 AM Nintendo is well on their way to being an entire gender personified. It will take gays and women and combine them to create an ultra race that won't need to breed because they have their Miis. They'll be easily identified by the Mark of Miyamoto, at which point we can round them all up and gas them.
I feel so good for taking Nintendo to The Godwin School. Title: Re: Q2 release dates Post by: Azazel on May 03, 2008, 03:46:04 AM There isn't one. Or the multiformat ad-posters? |
