Different swords might be a way to mix cultural elements, and still be subtle for those not in the know. Krabi or Kriss for Thailand, and of course Viking for that. My wife has a tatoo there and hers is 12 or 13 years old -- well before it became "popular" and the location wasn't chosen to coincide with thongs or low-rise jeans (not the style then) but for concealability.
