According to the story on the Beijing news, the teenager thought he was a Fire Mage and filled a water bottle with fuel and doused the victim in fuel before setting him alight. The victim received burns to 55% of his body, including third-degree burns on 38% of his body. The teenager has subsequently received a jail sentence of 8 years and his accomplice received 7 years. Both families of the perpetrators have also been ordered to pay 760,000 RM to the victim's family. This is one crazy world we live in and these tragic stories highlight the fact that younger players should be monitored by parents who are liekly to intervene when their child shows signs of losing grip on reality. Tricky thing about China is there's millions more MMOG players over there than here. The freak:normy ratio might be the same and they'll still come out ahead.
