The minority report, really? Wilmore is very funny, I hope he tackles more than race issues which unfortunately is all he does on the daily show.

Yeah, I haven't really seen him do much outside of playing the minority card bit. I probably would have been more excited for John Hodgman getting a show to play the conservative counter to the Daily Show, or with a new direction for the show under Sam Bee's or Aasif Mandvi's lead.
I know I'll still give it a go and it will probably be okay, but I'm not expecting much at this point.

It could be good. I would also like Sam Bee to have a show.

Larry Wilmore will have a solid show I think. The key is going to be the writers - can they work beyond the "race card" humor (which is still pretty goddamn funny). I think he'll do fine.

Wilmore? All I've ever seen him do is race stuff. This looks like a diversity hire.
What?

I've seen Wilmore doing standup, he has more range than just racial humor. That said, if this is 'just' a Comedy Central version of Totally Biased, they could do worse.

Well either way I'm sure it will be funny. Comedy central is certainly lacking in racial humor with the exception being Key and Peele who are as much pop culture as racial in their comedy. However I would like to see Wilmore stretch his comedy chops beyond race just because that's all I've seen him do.

I'm ok with this, Larry Wilmore always impressed me. I honestly find John Hodgman's shtick nigh-unwatchable, he's my least favourite of the contributors.
I'm also really on board with the current cast of correspondents for the Daily Show. After some initially stiff deliveries, Al Madrigal and Jessica Williams are killing it, and I like the way Jordan Klepper is shaping up already.

Jordan is my new favorite on that show. He is what Harland Williams should have been.

Hodgeman only does the one character even in his stand up special(which is atrocious) but the character itself(apologist for the rich) was good originally but it's gotten so outlandish and over the top as to be cringeworthy.

Was going to say, ranking these guys (and girls) is kind of a silly effort considering they would all be a tier above the rest of television in both intelligence and humor.

For the most part I agree. Jessica Williams is my favorite of the current cast. They've had their occasional misses, though. I'm looking at you, Olivia Munn.

Very good last episode. Going to miss it, I've enjoyed it more than the daily show for a while now. Him playing a mockery of an ultra right wing pundit allowed him to giving biting social commentary that nobody else could, while remaining absolutely hilarious.
I'm really not sure how well he's going to do out of character, but god knows he's earned what ever path he wants to take, even if he becomes shitty because of it.
