The Captain America/Cobra Commander face off in the back is epic. I just love the concept.

Captain America: So, um, I was wondering if you wanted to go out some time, you know, after all the others finish beating the crap out of each other?

Cobra Commander: You mean like, go to a movie or something?

Captain America: Um yeah sure I guess so, if you wanted to.

Cobra Commander: I, er, well. OK, sure, why not, I guess!

Ha!  I thought it looked like a lupine, but it's the wrong color for any of the species around where I am.  Texas, amirite?

The saturation might be too high but the levels in the original photo were definitely wrong.

The processing makes it looks like she's dimensionally shifting. Probably to the dimension of too damn cute.

Bluebonnets are the state flower and one which grows over almost the entirety of the state (don't pick!).  They make for some gorgeous shots like that.

It really is a beautiful pic, Salamok.

Great Pic Salamok! cute kid.

If I were to put on my critics hat i would advised on a slightly different crop, currently she is just kinda in the middle of a big image and you want it to focus on her. Also a minor tweak on the curves and saturation.
Here is my quick and dirty edit.

I think the original picture of the girl in the field of flowers was perfect. The other two that are tweaked lack the soul of the original.

I like Stew's crop, but it puts too much attention on the upper left foliage which is probably the most boring part of the original shot.

That was sort of the point, the background is out of focus and doesn't draw the eye which lends more weight to the foreground and subject matter.   Being able to crop a ton while maintaining enough DPI for a native 8x10 is my main reason for wanting to upgrade my 6mp camera up to 12.  I'd much rather shoot with the subject in the center and crop to off center afterward.

Nah, the slightly burnt look of the original has way more charm (like real life you know?) then the last two over-saturated unrealistic looking ones.  Wild grasses don't get that green unless you're in one of those super misty places and that just doesn't look right with the wild flowers and terracotta roofed houses in the background.

Heart the bokeh.

One of the things I've found about using a camera more and playing with photoshop is that I really hate saturated colours now. I can't stand HDR images. Just looks unreal to me.

From Wikipedia - Urban legend

It is a persistent urban legend that it is illegal to pick bluebonnets in Texas, possibly because the bluebonnet is Texas' state flower. In fact, it is perfectly legal to pick them.  Part of the confusion may stem from illegal activity associated with the picking of the flower, such as parking along busy highways or trespassing on private property.

Yes, I could have qualified it as I can pick the bluebonnets that grow in my own yard.

Pretty much anywhere the average person can pick them it is illegal to do so due to other laws.  Along with a host of other wildflowers.  I figured it was easier to say it's illegal than to find the two hundred bullets in state law which might apply to any given situation. Longer version.

Summation: Technically legal.  Highly ikely to get your ass in trouble should you attempt it anywhere but your own property.
