For those into old console games or emulation.

Watch people utterly destroy games you considered impossible in mere minutes.

Mario in 5 minutes is the insain one (I've seen the vid before).

Not to sure that Golden Axe in 18 minutes is very impressive though.

Edit: Ok the Golden Axe one took 11:18 and the player didn't get hit all all. Not bad.

That reminds me of taking gameplay calls on Super Mario World for the SNES. I was a CS monkey who crosstrained to take gameplay calls for that particular game. People would ask me how to get past certain areas...I would explain it to them in detail. When they claimed it impossible, I explained that I had JUST done it while I was on the phone with them (this was usually the part where you have to fly an extended distance while wearing a cape...tricky to learn, but easy as hell once you the hang of it).

Long story short- spend enough time playing any game and the seemingly impossible becomes trivial.

My god. I just watched the two player Battletoads speedrun. My will to game is almost at nil.

That was an amazing testament to co-op gaming.

Such artful perfection in the time attack of Super Mario 3.   I found myself time attacking my zonealarm upgrade aftwards.

And some of these required literally THOUSANDS of re-records to get right. No, not savestates, from the beginning.

I'm not sure if these are the same (haven't had a chance to look yet), but I know there were a few Mario Brothers speed runs floating around a while ago that were known to haev been made with Zsnes and instant save/replay/slow motion.  Had a lot of bug exploiting, which was interesting to watch, one of them being somehow jumping out of pits when the feet were already past the side.

Either way, still interesting to watch.

Edit: The original link does mention actually doing this, so meh. :)

I forgot to mention this: The first half was played at 6%, the second half at 4%, and the ending sequence at 3%.

Looks like he played in super duper slow mo.  Quote taken from the authors comments section.
