Those of you still using XP SP1 will need to upgrade to SP2 if you want access to these patches. Also as Miasma mentioned in the other thread, IE 7 is automatically selected for installation as a High Priority update so you'll need to deselect it if you don't want it installed (you can also mark it so it doesn't show as an update again).

Fyi, the IE7 rollout didn't happen today, at least not on the computers here (in a domain with automatic updates enabled)

I should get back to nature, too. You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer. Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached. Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I'm quite disappointed with firefox as of late. It's not uncommon for it to consume +100mb of system memory and 25% CPU, which is totally ridiculous for a freaking browser.

I gave up on Firefox when it reached 1.5 and switched to Opera. Firefox was way too unstable, crashing constantly (1.0 crashed a lot as well but not nearly as much as 1.5), even on a brand new computer, and it was sluggish and sucked up memory like it was going out of style. Opera is faster and more stable and uses less memory. Plus on those rare instances when Opera crashes it remembers all the windows and tabs you had open so you can continue where you left off. |

FYI that is a feature of Firefox 2. I used Opera for everything in about 1999-2002. One day they released a new version and I discovered I had to buy a new licence, and I didn't particuarly like a few things about the new version so I stopped using Opera. But I was such an Opera fanboy back then that I wrote magazine articles about it. Might try it again soon. |

LOL, I didn't even think about that. You can configure the startup in different ways, e.g. always asks you want to do, always uses the last session (sounds like what happened to you), always use a particular set of tabs, etc. |
