Yeah, the first run through was great fun. I pretty much only played Coop with my friend, in person not XBL. We played through once, started on hard mode, then got bored. Still a good buy for me, I got a lot of fun out of it.

Every single one of these isometric super hero games bored me to tears. Tears because I really wanted to enjoy them.

I admit, there's not much goin' on here. But mindless button mashing can be therapeutic. Bonus if you like the setting/story.
Had a shortlived co-op romp with a couple of friends. Too bad that kind of thing doesn't happen enough. The game is much better that way.

Yea, whenever I play the Hero-y stuff, I always end up putting in Dynasty Warriors or Devil Kings or one of those types.

I'm stalled out in Act 4, mostly from boredom and realization that viewpoint and control is limited. I did enjoy all of Act 3 being set in Asgard, though. Thor was my favorite childhood comic and being able to have him as my main in MUA is a gaming dream come true. If I could ever play him CoH-style, I'd put in some serious catassing in that game.
Having Silver Surfer show up so late in the game pisses me off too as he'd been a permanent member of my team from the beginning. I mostly ran with Thor, Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, and Wolverine (he's the cheat mode for bosses). I did swap out Iron Man and Wolverine from time to time with Ghost Rider, Luke Cage, and Storm.
The origin and vs. missions are a nice touch. I'd never had thought to play certain characters since a team is limited to four members at a time. So, doing, for example, Mr. Fantastic's mission was an unexpected treat as his graphics rock.

I had a preorder from EBStop, so I had Silver Surfer from the begining. My team was Silver Surfer and Iron Man, and then rotated Wolverine, Deadpool, Ghost Rider and Dr. Strange in the last two spots.
Let me tell you. Silver Surfer and Iron Man together are IMBA. Big Time. You use Iron Mans ability that makes all powers cost 60% less energy, and along with Silver Surfers Time Slow and Heal. You can go on nuking forever with both guys.

Sounds like a Toad. I forgot to mention when I talked about Toad (in XML2) earlier that his haste also gives you something like +40 or 50% damage. Playing with Juggy as my main, Toad, Magneto and Scarlet Witch (turning enemies into crates ftw), the Brotherhood kicked ass in that game.
In MUA, I started with the Avengers, Thor as primary though I put in a lot of time as all the guys. It's nice you have to play them to unlock costumes, gives some flavor to the game since I played 90% of XML2 as Juggy. I also like how characters and costumes are unlocked across all save games. I'm in Asgard with the Avengers and I started another game as the FF and also one as Marvel Knights. The FF is a GREAT team, Thing is a good tank, Jonny is a great blaster, Sue is sick with her invis + crit + stun, and Reed is pretty flexible (in abilities, I mean ;)) I wish there were a cool bonus for playing one of my custom teams: Luke Cage, Blade, Black Panther and Storm. Word.
Plan on playing through hard mode with the Surfer and maybe a few guys I ignored the first time(s) around. Great game to pick up when I'm tired of more complex games. Just jump in and It's Clobberin' Time™!

Yep, now they just need to throw Vision in there so you can remake the team from the Captain America and the Avengers arcade. Thank you Quicksilver!

So they put up an auto-update for the game last night to get the game ready for the DLC. Well surprise, the update was fucked and corrupted a lot of peoples' saved game data. Fortunately I'd only just started on the game a couple days ago so I'd only gotten through the first couple areas, because I can't load up that save any more.

The DLC was finally made available a few days ago. I know I shouldn't get too excited about a few new characters to play as (especially for the cost), but as a comic geek I enjoy things like Hulk's "Planet Hulk" unlockable costume, and getting a team bonus for the New Fantastic Four lineup of Ghost Rider, Spidey, Wolverine and Hulk.
