I played Vanguard's free trial yesterday while I was sick at home.

A schild is a unit of consumption of video storage. It is roughly equivalent to seven appetites, so a schild and six appetites is a lot of upkeep.

Super.  I can now post that I have replaced my 7900 GS with a 9800 GTX+ and am currently hoping to get the reference drivers to install.  The XFX driver disc is pretty sure I don't have an XFX card, but a reboot is in order, so...

Anyway, I'm excited about the dynamic world shadows and "really cool" water in LotRO that I might be seeing soon.

My first thought was Judge Dread. swamp poop Now I'm going to have to listen to filthy reggae by a white guy to get it out of my head.

Is it sad that I know all of the lyrics to "I am the Law"?

No, the other one. Awesome. Anthrax was a great band. I've got stories, Joey was local.

I went to see them play when they were touring with Public Enemy, a friend of mine was kind of friends with a guy from the management company and we got to hang out with Scott Ian and Charlie Benante while the techs were setting his kit up. He was pretty cool, Public Enemy stayed in their bus and wouldn't come out.

Given that a Venn diagram of "metal fans" and "racist bastards" has a decent-sized overlap, I can't really blame PE on that one.  I say that as a metal fan.

Or they were smoking pot or playing playstation or they were having problems with their manager or merch people or any of a million things you have to deal with while touring. Never assume a band is being douchey if they don't want to hang out with you.

That's ridiculous. Most bands are being douchey, all the time, so its likely valid even if they have other reasons. Touring brings out the douche in the best of people, and most bands aren't made up of the best of people.

It'll be over a principle as well, I suspect.  Which was why I was interested in Lantyssas problem.
The main difference being mine was a volunteer position...  though I'm pig-headed enough that I fight my work's system as well.  Thankfully my immediate superiors are very pragmatic so we tend to agree on what is BS.

Indeed, but the higher up the chain you go, the more chance breaking principles leads to a jail sentence.

And that's not good for anyone.

I'm upgrading today for Free Realms! Grin

Not really.  My card was crashing on most everything that used a lot of textures.  Free Realms and Guild Wars were the only games I could play for hours without a problem.

Or maybe they just don't like hanging out with fans in general.  Ronnie James Dio has all sorts of stories from his time in Rainbow of Ritchie Blackmore flat out not being interested in doing anything with fans.  Could really be any number of reasons - like Sky said ranging to equipment issues and management problems to just flat out not wanting to hang out with other people.

Its strange that you should mention Dio. I hung out for autographs when his first solo tour hit the Glasgow Apollo. He didn't come out to sign autograhs. Instead he sent out a very scary looking roadie who asked us all to come in. Dio and band then signed autographs and chatted with us in the hospitality suite for half an hour or so. He's a very open and laid back guy.

It certainly disagreed with me. Unfortunately I spent $50 on expansion sets and monthly fees before I realized that it was awful 10 days into my first month. The lesson, as always, is that I am a dolt. And that almost every MMOG sucks complete ass.

Hopefully they're the stupid and pathetic form of organised crime, and not the sort that will hire investigators to track down the people who are fucking with their income stream so that they can involve them in 'accidents'. Dicking with multi-million dollar crime operations carries a risk when you don't know who or what you're dealing with.

Still, its very amusing.

Yes, because multi-million dollar religions did a great job fighting against them and continue to. Have we learned nothing in the last year or two?

As long as they continue to provide lulz, it's pretty much a nonstop pain in the ass for Auto One and they can't do anything about it.
