Hey, cat owners.. I got some questions...

my new girlfriend (yay me!  awesome, for real ) owns a cat which seems to be terrible afraid of me. Is there a way to cure that ? Also, when I sleep there, I wake up in the middle of the night and the cat is standing on my chest, staring at me and making strange noises, she purrs and there is another sound which is hard to describe, reminds me of the sound doves make... (the internet tells me it is called cooing)

Is it me who should be afraid ?  ACK!

The cat loves you, is all. You're lucky, btw. For the first two years, my GF's cat would pee on my clothes every night.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I dunno.  I think it's in love with him and betting that it's going to start humping his face in the middle of the night.

Ok. Now I AM afraid.  ACK!

Don't worry.  It probably won't hurt you.  Most cats just have wee tiny penises.  Even a nostril will give it loads of room.  I doubt it could drill it's way to the brain, either.  Unless, of course, it's one of those giant cats that everyone seems to have around here.  Then you could be in some trouble.  If the cat hasn't been neutered, you could aspirate and die.

I hope I made you feel better now.

More than likely I won't need a hotel, so mostly just drinking and eating, and just general tourist-y stuff.

You know, I always enjoyed the Classic Rock station, and as a teen would chuckle to see 'old guys' enjoying it.  It's always had this separation from 'my music' and I never felt like an 'old guy' listening to it.

This morning the Classic Rock station played Guns N Roses and Poison, followed by Boston.

You could probably get away with about a hundred dollars a day then if you stay away from HK Disneyland and shark fin soup.

A good 141 would be about a hundred dollars or so.

Hey, VH1 classic actually has music. So "classic" has something going for it. I love the classic album series where they have some blokes sitting at the mixing desk soloing tracks, pulling out just Moonie's drums or Jimi's crazy backing guitar. One of the best things on tv, imo.

Heart Keith Moon more every year. I shoulda been a drummer. Pity my neighborhood when I set up my drums this spring...

Ah cool. I was figuring a little more. I heard that even beer is a bit expensive there.

[edit] Oh wait, shit. I read that as "week". Fuck, a day? That's pricey.

[edit] Err, unless you're talking Chinese dollars.

Well, you said you wanted to drink, and yeah alcohol can be pricey in HK.

Some great food to be had... if you really want to cut down on food expenses you can go for street food.  Oddly enough, some of the best food I have had in Asia has been from street vendors.

As for drinking, you can throw a rock and hit at least three bars pretty much anywhere.

Depends on where you eat and drink. HK is one of the most expensive places to live and many restaurants and bars are priced as such. If you are hanging out with friends that live there they can take you places that are cheaper and like Oban said you can try the street food, if you are adventurous.

For your budget just pretend you are visiting New York City (which is actually less expensive than Hong Kong swamp poop) and plan that way. HK has a fixed exchange rate with the US dollar so prices in HK to a US person are very stable so you don't have to worry about that.

Gotcha.. Yeah, it did seem more expensive than NYC, so I was wondering. Well, I guess it's cool that I can cut lodging expenses out. But shit, I'd be better off telling people to meet me in Thailand instead.  awesome, for real

Best new meme I've seen in a VERY long time.

I read a funny story once.. from some other actor, I think.. Where he was in a NY diner or something, and there was this weird guy sitting near him, alone, fully dressed up in bandages like the invisible man. Turned out to be Bill Murray. So if there's any truth to that, I don't think Bill even wants to be seen at all.

Well, the reason I love it, and true story. Like 20 years ago, my mom was in a hotel in NY during Toy Fair and was standing in a lobby watching all the celebrities come in for some event. Bill Murray, dressed in a bathrobe walks up behind my mom and goes, "Man, I don't know what all these people are looking at, they're just celebrities." My mom, having not turned around yet goes "Actually, it's pretty amazing." My mom then turns around, Bill Murray says "Maybe" and proceeds to walk away. Now, my mom isn't one to make up interesting stories and I know for a fact she made those trips, so I have no reason not to believe her. As such, all these 4chan stories are COMPLETELY PLAUSIBLE (to me).

They seem plausible because Bill Murray is one of those guys who never seems to have gotten stuck on himself. He's just some guy who knows he got damn lucky and enjoys it.

My stepdad looks like Bill Murray. He gets fed up with people telling him that all the time, but I bet if Bill Murray told him he wouldn't mind.
