They're taking an idea from their Woot subsidiary, this year's Prime Day is a bag of crap.

I got a $186 Cuisinart food processor for $65 on a flash sale, so there's that (I stacked Prime Day deal/credit card promo/rewards).

But yeah, a lot of nah.

There are some decent deals in the 30 percent off clothes deal. Bought some pants I've bought before (amazon having the lowest price anywhere) for that same initial price + 30 percent off.

Oddly, I was looking for a small hardwood floor vacuum for our house and one happened to be on a lightning deal. So I bought something on Prime day, but not because it was on sale.

In Austin for three days for a walkthrough of our house. A stark reminder of how shit New England is and will always be.

Awesome. The racist-as-hell old guy that got let go is now back as a contractor.  He's currently spouting a lot of anti-Muslim/immigrant rhetoric to the Moroccan guy next door.  Ohhhhh, I see.

Uhm, maybe I just give too much credit, but isn't that just a response to those that brand anyone who has issues with Obama as a racist? Which is pretty much the same thing as calling everyone who doesn't care for the new Ghostbusters a Trump loving MRA...

Just got done with the install of my Cspire (regional cell carrier) install of Fiber to the Home TV and Internet. Holy fuck, it's fast. Downloaded a 1.7GB game from Steam in less than 2 minutes.

And I don't even care about the speed. All I care about is that I can now tell Comcast to go face-fuck themselves with a blender filled with lemon juice and salt.

VZ guy was servicing the neighbor's line (I'm guessing DSL). Stopped by and asked him if he was installing fiber.

And we laughed and laughed.

Racism.

Anyway. Lovely morning in which I had to install some new parts in our media dispenser for the vendor in Italy. Things went badly but as I'm an awesome jack of all trades I was able to reconfigure the machine and rewire an interface so it works fine. Versus leaving it broken until he visits in October. Boss happy, vendor happy.

Unfortunately won't translate into more pay for six years because the minimum wage going up means none of the professional staff will get a raise until that shit is done inflating. Thanks, Obama.

Too much bass, synth is too crisp, and the vocals have the 2000's over-produced clipped-audio fingerprint all over them.

It's very close, though.

I remember that one from back when it came out. It sounded like a hair rocker's solo project. Not sold on the new stuff.

I'd like to take a moment to point out that America's gold metal is in shooting (10m air rifle), and it was won by someone named Virginia Thrasher.

That's basically the most patriotic thing ever.

From West Virginia. She started to shoot competitively after killing a deer on the first shot of her first hunting trip, deciding she must be pretty good at it.

She's a goddamn modern folk tale.

Was my birfday today so did some surf and turf. Had never made lobster tails, but did a grilled/basted method that turned out great and I'm pretty proud of how they came out for my first go with it so here it is:

Also cracked a 2000 Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou that I bought on release that has made it through two house moves. Can see it in the upper corner in the decanter, was practically black. Been the "crown jewel" in my very limited collection of wine and now it is in my belly.  It was amazeballs and I'm glad it managed to survive a non-cellar environment for so long. Going on a suck-ass diet for the foreseeable so decided to just say fuck it and go all out.
