First time using a urgent care yesterday. I did this because I was looking for a new doctor and it was close. I really just needed someone to fix this throat infection, and that was what they did. Even with filling out the new patient paperwork, I got diagnosed, two shots in the ass, and a prescription in about two hours. I don't know if that sounds bad to you, but it was pretty nice.

Schild, it's funny that I was sending the link for Vampires are Alive to a coworker at almost the same moment you posted it here.
And that image from the CoD spot is kind of misleading. Most of the commercial is confusing, blurry jumping around. Why are the big publishers all now doing live-action commercials for their games?

Because to big publishers, games are now interactive movies.
Despite the fact that every game that tries to be a movie experience tends to suck because making a good movie or game is almost impossible already without having to deal with the other aspect.

My neighbor is awesome; he is a bass pro fisher for a living!
Free protein 4tw.
What is his name? I got semi-addicted to watching one of the pro bass circuits. Yes, I do feel dirty. Fred/Freddie. Said one of his teams spots for Lake Murray is still playing on TV. Never watched fishing, so dunno.

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

Also easier to control every aspect of the advertisement than the multi-man coordinated efforts of an in-game demonstration. I helped make in-game video for the Medal of Honor: Warfighter campaign. You can't really see anything in those shots but BOOM! MOVEMENT! EXCITEMENT!
It's creating this idea and associating it with your product, somewhat like car commercials that don't tell you anything about the car. It's not like the average person would be more informed, but funny pigeons and Top Gun music? Sold!

Heating element died in one of my water heaters again, and so this morning I called to have it replaced. I ended up replacing both at a slight discount.
Meanwhile I still need to decide on a replacement ventless gas log thingy to replace my broken one, especially now that it is cold again (below 50F!).
I think we (the wife) have almost decided on a replacement dishwasher (maybe), I just need to order it I think. I've been sick lately so I'll need to confirm this.

Did you switch over to one of the tankless or are you still on a tank?
Reddit thread the other day about a guy who installed a commercial dishwasher. Crazy bastard did what I've been thinking of doing for years. (Along with a commercial flake-ice machine) Washes dishes in under 90s, you should do it. DOOOO IT.

I wanna go to Poland now. Never got there when I was in stationed in Europe. That or Hungary, well Warsaw and Budapest is where I would want to see. That and all the capitals of the Nordic countries and the Baltic States too. So much travel and so little time.

I've hit the end of the tankless quest since ultimately I'd need to run a natural gas line to replace the LP tank. I replaced the 40-gal ones with 50-gal ones, Rheem I think. Six-year hardware warranty, one year labor. Same people that put in my HVAC and lost my flow-limiters. Did it in less than three hours. Reddit thread the other day about a guy who installed a commercial dishwasher. Crazy bastard did what I've been thinking of doing for years. How much are those bad boys? I'm not going to be able to get one because the entire reason we haven't replaced ours yet is because we can't find one in bisque on display. I'll assume the commercial unit is stainless steel.

I'm really enjoying schild's link to Frenum's Comics. Exactly my sort of humor.

We installed a tankless at our previous house. Loved the endless hot water. Hated the 20+ seconds it took to warm up in the winter. That balanced out, but we constantly had to get maintenance done on it to keep it running well. Probably won't do one again anytime soon.

Wife just sent me a text of my computer screen at home looking all messed up. I hope it's just a cable being loose or something. If not.. new monitor. Yay?
Anxiety meds must be working. I hardly feel like murdering my co-workers when they do something incredibly dumb. "I have no fucking idea what that defect is supposed to say. And if I have no idea, how is someone who speaks English as a second language going to decipher it?"

Oh, this is an unreleased version working in conjunction with unreleased software from another company. The documentation is thus very minimal (or nonexistant). Setting up the configurations is pretty much like swapping the idol in Raiders of the Lost Ark. edit: Cord jiggle fixed it. Damn.

You know what sucks?
When your father has to have major surgery to fix an aortic aneurysm and there are complications so he's in intensive care for 6 days. Meanwhile, your grandfather who lives 1200 miles away passes away the day after your father's surgery so now your family has to try to be in two places at once.
That's what sucks.
At least my Dad is recovering now and there was no damage to his kidneys, which was a big concern. Difficult 10 days though.

I get emails from people with names like that all the time. Usually offing me a nice vig on colossal sums for merely letting them use my bank account...

Put up a sign reading "DONOT TAEK MY BELOGNIGS" and draw a skull+crossbones on it. If that doesn't stop them, call up City Hall and use an air horn.

So, I got to struggle with the fun question of "Eh, does that need stitches?"
Wife managed to stab herself right below the base of her finger with the tip of a kitchen knife. Maybe a millimeter long, but fairly deep (we didn't see bone or anything and she can move the finger just fine). Bled pretty good, but gauze and tape worked to stop that. Thankfully only as wide as the blade of a small cutting knife.

Sadly I had no superglue that I felt comfortable slapping in a wound (specifically what I have somewhere is some gorilla glue that's all caked up). I used gauze and tape for a few hours, then liquid bandage once it had stopped seeping. Once the bleeding was stopped, it wasn't too bad and the liquid gunk will keep the edges together. It'll heal quick -- nice thing about really smooth cuts like that.
I should get a tube of the derma-bond, just in case. I've had a need for it a few times.
