Going to be one of these days at work.  Some guy reinstalls his machine and sets the IPs to the same as one of my machines.  Same guy earlier manages to screw up a repair when he manages to fat finger a switch that no one should technically be able to.

TIME TO PLAY DIABLO.

Some woman did this earlier and set her machine to the same IP as the external Router.

She switched her machine on, internet went down.

I'm still scratching my head at that one.

Found an awesome walking path by work today. Almost didn't go back. But then the clouds started rolling in, so, eh, not so bad in the office after all.

To cut a long story short, I destroyed my iPhone recently, and finally had to give up on repairing it. I had an old Lumia phone kicking around, but locked on the wrong carrier. So I used one of those online phone unlocking services. I was 90% sure it was going to be a scam, but I'm amazed to report that it actually worked.

This leads me to ask, how the heck do those services work? How on earth do they find out the unlock codes for random phones? Anyone know?

And more importantly, can I survive with the crappy old Lumia until the iPhone 6 comes out?

I did more or less the same thing a couple years ago, unlocking an AT@T iphone that I needed to use in Europe.  Pretty sure Apple or AT@T just has a bajillion codes sitting around, because they will also do it for a price.  These things aren't locked in the traditional sense of the word, only in the douchebaggery sense of the word.

Given my explicit instructions (written too) and those of my 4 year old son, my parents decided to trust my son.  Predictable results ensue.

I want to rage at my parents, but instead I settled for a "well, this is what happened" text.  God, they really are turning into useless old farts before my very eyes.   At least they didn't crash my car.  In hindsight, not the best idea letting them borrow it.

It happens to them all, and us in turn as well.  I just hope I can keep my wits long enough to say, "Look, stop trusting me to do shit. I'm going in an assisted living apartment now. Visit or you get nothing."

Is it failing to capture or is it failing on startup after applying the image to a machine?

Failing on capture.  Big 'ole fuck off screen.  I've inserted the network drivers now and it now boots, but gives a blank screen which suggests I now need to insert the video drivers.

This is a cunt.  The guy actually installing has managed 20 machines in the time it's taken me to get to this stage building the WDS.

That reminds me that I've seen none of those films in more than a decade.  Is Hot Shots sorta kid friendly?

Robocop suffers from lack of gratuitous 1980's nudity. The Terminator is the perfect 80s action film. And better than the sequel, which is not the prevailing opinion because people are terrible and stupid.

Best action films of the 80's: Diehard and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Also a nod to Lethal Weapon.

I will give you Diehard. For some reason I don't see Raiders as an action flick- it is an adventure flick. Probably splitting hairs though.

I'm not sure anything without Schwarzenegger can claim best action film of the 80s. It's debatable which of his is the best, but he shaped a generation of movies.

Highlander was too high of quality to be considered an 80's action movie.  I'd go with Die Hard.  And if I had to choose an arnold movie it would be a Conan.

How about Big Trouble in Little China?  Solid action flick as well... and a young Kim Cattrell.

I didn't say Robocop was the best movie of its era, just that it is a perfect movie. There is not one wasted scene. Hell, there might not even be a wasted shot.

By those metrics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the 1990 one, is the perfect movie. So, I can't say I disapprove.

But, was there a wasted shot in Predator? I don't know. I haven't watched it or Robocop enough to disagree or agree. That aside, just based on acting I can't call Robocop a perfect film as half of the acting was horrendous, which is basically a staple of anything by Verhoeven. Even then, I think everything Verhoeven did for Robocop he did better directly afterwards in Total Recall.

Two of the effects shots were ropey in Predator, if you wanna nitpick.  Beyond that, sublime.

I lean towards Predator. I'd vote for Conan the Barbarian but it really is in a different genre.
