You COULD make an extra special effort to find Nemo tonight.

Did I really just say that?  WTF is wrong with me???

We went to Deep Sea World today for Elena's birthday.

So I'm not sure how collosal a co-incidence your post was, but we saw Nemo in pretty much every fucking tank.  It's like any aquarium wants to cash in on that sweet, sweet Clownfish moolah.

(Though I saw Dory and I was all OMG, THere's Dory, that lesbian Fish.)

Even more weird coincidence week (which is what this week is now dubbed), I went snorkeling at Typhoon Lagoon and saw the same thing.  Georgia Aquarium is even worse:  when I was there four years ago they had an entire clownfish themed wing.

Fucking snorkel was horrible, I felt like I was drowning the whole time because I was sucking in so much water.

I always thought clownfish were fairly ubiquitous. Nemo just raised their profile.

I'm kindof excited.  I haven't had the desire to play a game in 12 months or so (really since I finished up with Demons' Souls) and tonight I am going to buy the Secret World and play it.  I'm very excited about the prospects from reading the forums.  Maybe this is a step to getting the "old me" back.   awesome, for real

You know the godawful malware that invested my wife's laptop? I JUST got the new OS installed, moved all her files, and gave her a clean, fully patched laptop YESTERDAY.

She booted it up sometime this afternoon. Within four hours she'd crashed it (that was actually Flash being a dick, so not her fault) then managed to infect it with like eight different fake malware shit. Blekko, PC Speed Express, a fake Yahoo Messenger, and something else.

Luckily -- LUCKILY -- all I had to do was close everything down and uninstall them. I'm running a full scan anyways with MSE and about to use Malware Bytes when that's done, but they uninstalled cleanly after I removed a few running processes.

It took, oh, 30 seconds to find out how. All she'd done, besides let IE install flash, was download and install Yahoo Messenger. By googling "Yahoo Messenger" and clicking on the first link.

Which was a paid ad from "alwaysdownloads.com". Which did not, I might add, install Yahoo Messenger -- but all that other crap.

It's not even worth coming home from work some days. There's just more work.

Well, to be honest she spend over four hours at the DPS (DMV for you non-Texans) with my son getting his learner's permit, and may have done that under the influence of at least half a bottle of wine.

I say "at least" because it's empty now, and I'm not sure when she installed it, but sometime after she started drinking.

Removing it has been quite easy, as it's just uninstalling it. Still, I am aghast. I'm also a little irritated at Google for placing it top of the page (Google Ads) despite it being a very obvious purveyer of fake malware scanners, unwanted toolbars, and other shenanigans.

Maryland is pretty, but too damned humid. And the Annapolis area seems to have no laundromat that isn't filled with people just loitering about asking if you "need anything, bro?"

That is all.

After blowing up about it, I found it hilarious. Sucks having to fix it, of course.

That's pretty much why I posted about it. Half to vent, half because it was just...funny. All it did was install a few toolbars and a faux malware-system that actually wanted you to purchase it, not as a malware vector. Removing it took five minutes. The scans to verify it's all gone will take a bit more.

Maryland is pretty much the shittiest place in America.

Morat, all of that shit can be solved by just turning on super strict control and requiring a password for everything. When she asks why you can just look her straight in the eye and say "You don't respect mah technology."
