Your daughter has it.
She's saving it in a special place to be used when she's 7+ and you're trying to get her to school and she turns over and says "just one more minute".
Then you'll miss her early mornings.
I have two, so one is getting me out of bed at 6 and the other is doing the "just let me sleep" at 8. So I'm up early, sleepy and still late for work.
Kids are great.

Happy birthday to the baby girl! I will eat curried goat tonight in her honor. In other (horribly skin-crawling news) I just picked the most terrible thing out of my pond! I had to work my scientist-version of Google-fu to discover that it is called a rat-tailed maggot. It was feeding on the mosquito dunk (Bt skeeter larvae killer) and I pulled it out with a twig and fed it to my pitcher plant. Icky!! |

Meant to say... loved your blog this week past, V-Lily. Believe it or not, I don't mind gutting a fish as much as I mind shoving my hand inside a chicken. I don't know why. I always think something bad is going to happen when I shove my hand up a dark place. I also hate the smell of fish blood and entrails, but I love the results of cooking fresh fish. I haven't in ages and I need to soon! Now I have a craving.

Even though the tuna was MUCH bigger, it was a lot easier to gut it than the ducks. I think it's a warm-blooded vs. cold-blooded thing.

Gutting ducks is really that difficult? Isn't it just like a chicken?
Granted I cut up dead ducks every now and then and I've never had to gut them, but it doesn't seem strikingly difficult. Especially not compared to a tuna.

Eh... the really really big Sharpies are kind of unwieldy. I also despise the really really fine tip Sharpies, I like the original big felt tip ones. Somehow I have nothing but non-black sharpies in my house. I hope my retractable sharpie is still safe in its nest.
