Accepted a job offer on Tuesday (finally!) which will have a bit of a commute involved, but I'll be getting a nice raise to compensate. Long-term contract position, but the possibility exists for hire. And it's in healthcare/pharma, which is a good field to be getting into these days.
Went on a second interview for another position today, just in case. Thought it went really well.
And out of the blue, got a job offer from a third position that I'd heard nothing back from even when I followed up. In-person interview was back on 9/24 and then silence until this offer came. I'm kind of glad it took them a while because the offer I did accept is much, much better, IMO.
And I got 2 more emails from recruiters asking for a resume for positions they felt I'd be a fit for.

Easiest thing to do when you want to avoid large income in a corp is to hire more people to handle non-time-sensitive projects. FYE for the state of TX is in August (not sure about other states/fed gov't) but now is when they actually start hiring for new positions created in the new FY budget. |

They can be ok... but when the bastard calls at the WRONG time, is on a cell phone with background noise and starts grilling you over stupid technical details on a schematic that HE has in front of him and not YOU, well fuck that verily.
