Forums immediately begin parody threads demanding issue 8.

Patch notes here, mostly unchanged from the test notes.

Free PDF containing complete numbers for all villain powers here. Prima still wants to charge for the CoH version of that. Oh well.

My most relevant changes:

    Global power effects -
  • Stealth and similar effects now turn off for 10 seconds when you interact with a mission object. No more planting a bomb with someone standing right on top of you. Sorry.
  • Archvillains and giant monsters got tougher. Consequently you need more people to spawn an archvillain at lower difficulty levels.
  • Defense scales better, making it generally easier to dodge attacks from higher cons.

    UI -
  • You can turn off random team and supergroup invites. Trumpets sound, the angels sing.
  • Manage your buff icons - turn off auto-powers, buffs of the same type stack their icons, friendly buffs blink 5 seconds before they run out. This also applies to the mini-view of your team's buffed status in the team pane.
  • CoH zones revamped zone-wide for CoV-style reflections and suchlike.
  • Minimal graphic settings turned down even further to boost compatibility with older graphics cards.

    Supergroups -
  • Decorate your base with items bearing your group's logo. Undocumented but useful - if you change supergroup colors, any items already placed retain the old colors until you place another item of the same type.
  • New base items offer high-capacity storage of enhancements, salvage, and inspirations.
  • Salvage can be converted into short-term buffs. A supergroup with only the "join allowance" from 15 members (maximum) can build a base with a salvage bin, inspiration holder, enhancement locker, and empowerment station.

Also, PHYSICS! and MAYHEM!

FYI, most of the East Coast servers are still down at this time.

Edit: and they are all up

Maybe it's time to dust off Infected Genie.

Yes, it's true - Issue 7 is being patched to live servers!

Everyone should get a free tailor token as the servers come back up for all your tailoring needs.

Free Respecs will be handed out this Thursday morning 6/8/06, during normal maintenance time. Free respecs do NOT stack, so if you have an old one use it or lose it!

At the tailor now. Didn't know they'd update CoH with CoV costumes too. Sweet.

I was going to reactivate my account but it doesn't like my Firefox. Oh well, probably for the best.

All Silver Age heroes have disappeared (but not mine).

Also, the Pirate Hat I've been dying to equip "Matador" with didn't pan out. Too big.

[edit] I take back the Silver Age thing. I decided to reroll my Grav Controller to a Dominator. Now he looks like something out of WH40K.

CoH: letting you rip off other games since forever.

The "interesting" part is that with the new ear and horn options you can pretty much make Night Elves, Blood Elves, and Draenei.

I will say that my Mind/Psi Dom is very happy with the change to the Confusion animation.
