Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

This video seems to have made the rounds quite a while ago already, but I missed. And maybe I wasn't the only one, so:

1000 years of European borders change timelapse map

I think it's quite fascinating.

The thick black outlines appearing in the 13th century until 1806 is the (nominal) border of the Holy Roman Empire.

Maybe not immediately apparent (as it's only geographically labeled): the dark-yellow spot forming around present day Austria and later including Hungary and Bohemia is all a single territory of house Habsburg.

Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic!

I really enjoyed seeing the HRE slowly transforming into a billion little states (during the 30 years war there was something like 3,000 territories in the HRE. Noone's actually sure because it isn't clear exactly where borders were or whether a lot were actually independent, just acted as if they were or what have you). Also seeing all the borders shit the bed every time there's a major conflict.

The Auralnauts just crack me up (and I haven't even seen the movie):

Embed code missing a bracket. Also, this was posted a long time ago in the music thread, if memory serves. Not that there's anything wrong with posting it again; its a very nice rendition.
