Not really. Spelling "but" as "butt" (why add a letter?), "new" as "mew" but "news" as "news" (why would the plural form be spelled correctly?), and "games" as "games" but "gamer" as "gemer" (again why would one form be spelled correctly but not the other?) are all giveaways.
