wants a greif tittle

on: March 09, 2006, 11:06:13 AM

So, tonight (Thursday) is my usual game marathon evening. I get off work early on Thursdays, and my girlfriend is at school till around 11:00. Tonight I would order some Thai food, and sit down at my computer to have a nice long session of WoW.

Well, my internet broke yesterday, and it wont be fixed till tomorrow evening. I havent bought any new games in a long time, so I thought I would hit up EB Games on my way home from work. I dont know what to get.

I was considering Marc Echo's Getting Up, but Im not sure that im in the mood for Ghetto Culture tonight. Its really to bad that Elder Scrolls isnt out yet, but oh well.

So, what do you guys suggest? Console or PC single player, any good ideas?

Super Metroid or Heroes of Might and Magic III.  I do not tire of those two games.  Ever.

The new FIFA and Winning Eleven are pretty fun, if you're into that eurofag stuff.
Civ4 is guaranteed to rock you all night long.

A coworker just picked up Battle for Middle Earth 2 at lunch. The graphics look sweet... that's about all I can say though (he didn't load it up).

Another friend of mine is enjoying Black. "I like it. There's no puzzles or anything. You just run around and find things. And when you find them, you usually end up blowing up the shit out of them." He likes blowing shit up.

A few good ideas but...

I hate FPS on the console. I cant do it. Also, I dont really like sports games. Only the extreme sports games like Tony Hawk and SSX. I also have Civ4. It was fun for a while but I got bored with it. Probably should have put all this in the original post.

God of War just went Greatest Hits I think.  Don't know if you've already played that..

Rome:Total War? The Barbarian pack should come with it at this point.

Ya lost me at "my internet broke."  I've got nothing.  Oh, sympathy.  I have that for you.

Edit: Yeah Scrolls IV.  That will be the first single player I've bought in at least a year.  I'm scared.

I feel your pain - same thing happened to me last week (and yesterday too - wtf Verizon)

I wound up playing DOOM3 since I never finished it.  I knew I wasn't going to play a single-player game again while my connection was down, so why buy one :)

I've already told Morphiend. But Shadowhearts 3. You break Capone out of Alcatraz as one of the early plot points. The game is unstoppable.

Sssshhhh!

Morph, God of War or Resident Evil 4, if you have not tried them yet.  Which I would find difficult to believe.

Personally, for quick action I really like Ratchet: Deadlocked, but I would suggest that if you were going to be serious about the R&C series that you start with the first one (there are four now, all PS2).  If you just want to "blow shit up" as Gleeman Vox says, Deadlocked will eat up a few hours with no problem.  My favorite 3D platformer series by a huge margin.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I ended up buying "Marc Echo's Getting Up" because they didnt have Shadowhearts 3 in at my local EB. I havent got very far, there is just a bit to much Tagging to remain interesting. Its like Im running around and it says "Freedom Challenge" Tag this truck 20 times. So I sit there for 2 minutes spraying tags on the truck. It feels like a waste of time. Also, the game tips SUCK. They flash on screan quickly, and then if you move or hit any button they are gone, but they frequently come while im running, so they flash up, then away. Im going to try and push through and see if it gets a bit more interesting, but.... meh.
