Wow... the older they get, the more Eddie and DLRoth start looking alike.  That picture was just sad.

As for Salma.  She defies words.

She doesn't look any different to me than she usually does.

That's not to say she ever looks bad, but....I'm not sure where this reaction is coming from.

Now this has become a proper oscar thread.

Picture repeated because this is page 2, and so we can't see the original post...

I'd  just like to say that Salma Hayek was hotter than the sun last night.   Usually she just approaches its heat intensity, but last night she surpassed it.

What... no pic or link?

I live to serve.

You realize that Hayek's pic with that phrase is just about every man's sexual fantasy right?

Though I did not watch the Oscars, I did see that pic this morning, and smoking hot doesn't even begin to describe it.

Didn't watch the Oscars, but if a gentle ribbing from Jon Stewart can elicit the gas face then I say it's time to bring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin back from the dead to do their roasts of A-list celebrities on a regular basis.  Hell, Don Rickles is still alive, and I'm sure he's looking for work.

I would pay big money to watch Rickles take the piss out of Hollywood to their faces. Or Congress, for that matter.

I enjoy being one of the many who do not care one iota about the Oscars and couldn't give a flying fuck if George Clooney/Reese Witherspoon/etc/etc spontaneously combusted on stage.

I'm sure a lot of hardcore racists who saw Crash felt awful guilty after seeing it. I recall the Ku Klux Klan having Oprah Book Club moments crying about the mexican guy's plight during their nightly viewing of the film during its run.

Wait. What?

I don't know how much more succinctly I can put it.  The movie:

A) Was forumulaic

B) Reused the tired "Coincidences abound!  Every character will interact with the others in a serendipitous accident and they'll all learn a valuable lesson!" schtick that was old hat when Magnolia did it 7 years ago.

C) Repeated the old Hollywood mantra about how we're all horrible bigoted people, and only the brave artistes in LaLa Land have the sensitivity to show us the ugly truth.

D) Committed the unpardonable sin; was preachy and cheesy to boot.

I repeat, it absolutely sucked.

If you're tweaked by formulaic movies or preachy dramas, or even coincidences in plots, I would recommend never ever watching another movie again.

A couple of comments from someone that was there.

Salma was HAWT.

So was Keira Knightley.

Stewart did a good job.

3-6 Mafia were actually in suits and tuxes and stuff when they came in and when they left for the after parties. The only reason they accepted their award all "thugged out" was because they had just done the Pimp number and were caught off guard.

Crash was the safest movie they could have gone with of all the movies nominated. That's why it won.

A Clooney fan myself, who quite enjoyed Syriana, I was glad to see George's recognition.  I did not see the event - but I gather for that night, Clooney was the only one gutsy enough to get a little political.

The above picture of Salma doesn't even really convey how hot she was.

I started to go into detail there, but it got creepy. So just take my word.

That dress would suggest not.  Not much to the imagination.  They are seriously a lot bigger than they used to be.  I'm looking for the pregnancy bump at this stage....

I take it back- Ironwood may be on to something (link is SFW- just an article).

Pertinent passages-
Quote
She prepared for the role by spending hours in rehearsal and by augmenting her already voluptuous figure by making it a little more "meaty."

Quote
Fans will be delighted to know Hayek's seductive form is on display in both a nighttime ocean skinny-dipping scene and a passionate love scene with co-star Colin Farrell. While Hayek has gone nude before, the latter scene made her particularly uncomfortable. Farrell's reputation is no secret, but his sensitive manner shattered all of Hayek's preconceived notions.

Quote
Hayek also has an unexpected compliment for her co-star. She relates how many male actors will just stare at her breasts during the middle of a scene, especially when it's not called for in the script.

Heh.  Farrell is not a gentleman by any manner of means.  He merely knows women.  Sounds like his charms were at work once again.

Much respect for the foul mouthed, loud and abrasive Irishman.

Also, I'm really pleased that this group can take a useless thread like this and turn it from it's unbelievably stupid beginnings into a wonderful flower that contains Salmas Breasts.

Thank you all.

If you haven't seen "Frida" you should. Hayek bares it all, it's a good movie, and you even stop staring at her unibrow when there isn't a nude scene on. She's one of the best actresses working in Hollywood, IMO, and being one of the most classically beautiful women I've ever seen doesn't hurt.
