I loved Resident Evil 0 on the old nintendo cube thing.

Is gamecube that hard to remember?

Shh, Schild... he's an oldster.

Thanks for the tips, guys... I haven't player The Lost Odyssey so there's that.  I also haven't player the last couple of Final Fantasy games, either.  I can't remember but the last one I got was just a pain in the butt.  I liked some of them a lot, though.

Also, I enjoyed Dead Space 1 and 2 also but, yeah, probably not a kid's game unless they're sick like my nephew Michael was.  He was a prodigy of the creepy and violent, like me.  So proud.

Talks Principle? I've had it on my wishlist for ages waiting for a decent sale - is it as good as all that?

Hmm, I thought it was clear from context that I wasn't referring to "ages" in the geological sense.

If I replace "ages" by "months" will you answer my question?

Since it only came out six months ago, you can probably wait another six and pick it up for like five bucks. It's good, but it's not something you need to rush to pick up.

Gone Home and Gunpoint both on flash sale for stupidly cheap.

Picked up Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. It was too cheap to not take a flyer on it. Anyone play it?

Yeah I got it for like 5$ a year ago. Tried it a few times not bad but it's not as good as Warband. Not as fluid or fun.

Mostly would like to see Invisible, Inc and especially Rocksmith on dailies. I've got 4 Rocksmith DLC packs waiting to borg into my stupidly large DLC library. Though after playing Rocksmith at a friend's house with NO DLC I'm totally ok with my DLC mini-addiction.

Oooo, always wanted to try The Secret World and it's under a tenner.

Ok then.

Debating Dungeons 2 and Offworld Trading company as they're both on my wishlist.

Wish they were 75% off though.

It looks like the 9$ version is just the base game. It's good if you're not sure you'll actually enjoy the game, but if you're pretty confident, the Ultimate Edition (which is 42$ in the summer sale) has all of the issues they've released so far. If you do end up liking the game, you're going to pay more than that to get all of the current content by buying those separately.

Picked up XCOM+DLC. Late to the party once again, I know, but hey, it's pretty fun so far.

Is there something wrong with Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues since it's still in early access and already -50% off on steam sale?

fake edit: actually it says under "About This Game" that it's still in pre-Alpha and that the  game still needs a LOT of work.

I was disappointed in dead space 2. Controls are better, but it went for jump scares, they threw monsters spawns close to you and it felt more like a regular shooter and not the slower paced combat that dead space 1 did so great. It still had some parts I really enjoyed so its worth $5 if you enjoyed the first one.

Most of us know better than to give Garriott money.

Conversely, Alien Isolation is really tense and awesome. Unfortunately the controls are piggy on PC unless you use a gamepad, which I don't like for that kind of game. Struggled with them the first night and last night with a controller the button layout and options made more sense. Bleh. But the sound and visuals are amazing, I have it cranked up to movie levels and the ship creaks and ambient noise are great for tension building.

And Garriott, yeah. C'mon, now.

Between the speed the levels move at and the lag in the updates I don't think people can react one way or another to what other players are doing.  Just mash all the buttons.

75% off or better, 6 games so far.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

This is also my rule. I'm at 3 so far for this sale.

4 purchases so far, one to go. All of them are games I really want to play so I don't go for a 75% rule to live by. It saves me more money to have a healthy backlog since it reduces the chance for impulsive purchase on a game that just got released.

Do you think it will EVER be an actual game?  And good, too?  I have so many doubts.

That was kind of my point. Going -50% off at this point just removed any small hope that I might have had for this game (I had a soft spot for Garriott despite everything mostly due to nostalgia).
I was just interested to hear if someone knew of any new developments that might account for the game being on sale at -50%.
