Two sources from MMO champ here, this one from the start of this month, and an older one from late October.

Of note:

* Siege Wing 4 has been completed by a whopping 11% of players, on any difficulty, including LFR.

* By way of comparison, ToT Wing 4 was completed by 53% of players.

* Siege Wing 1 completion only moved by 4% between the two samples, which would seem to belie the notion that everything will even out in the end. Certainly Wing 4 completion will rise as time goes by, but will it really quadruple?

So WTF is going on here? I'm not a raider, but I rolled through all 4 LFR wings of Siege a couple weeks ago in 496 PVP gear (yeah I'm that guy) and had no problems, although I had the sense to only bother trying early in the week. I really didn't think it was a big deal, and I'm frankly shocked that so many people seem to have given up.

There's part of me that's extremely amused by the fact that they've gone absolutely balls-out to sustain the viability of the raiding model, even letting scrubs like me in via LFR, but still ended up with 90% of players not fighting their big end boss. Realistically though, this has to be a tuning issue, right? I mean the tastes and preferences of all those people who did ToT and stuff can't have drastically changed in a few months.

Those numbers are as of patch 5.4. ToT completion was much lower when it was actually relevant content, but the raid completion % for old raid continues to grow with each patch as people come back to the game and are forced to play through older raids (which have been made easier by gear inflation and direct nerfs) to open the new ones. I'd imagine most LFR players tune out before getting to wing 4 (or SoO in general) since re-running old LFR raids every week to increase your ilvl isn't especially fun, and some of the SoO fights aren't very friendly on LFR. Wing 4 is also pretty hard on normal/flex compared to the rest of the dungeon.

I'm one of those people who got through the first 3 parts of LFR and didn't bother with the last part.

Why? TBH, there's nothing pushing me to bother with it. I don't give a shit about Garrosh, he's probably one of the dumbest villians we've faced. What makes it even worse is they are rolling him over into the next expansion. Nevermind that Arthas was a billion times more popular, we're gonna keep Garrosh around! YEAH! So, instead of killing him, I know we don't actually kill him. Why would I bother?

I'm literally completely filled on all my slots except weapons, and those never seem to drop from anything on LFR no matter what I do.

Man, you must not play Horde.  Garrosh has been a useless whiner since goddamn BC.

Seeing his moping ass mope around the encampment in Nagrand until you run a hilariously long quest chain that culminates in bringing Green Jesus to meet his grandmother isn't so bad, although the part where Thrall tries to make Garrosh feel better about his daddy is just teeth gritting.  To have seen him become an arrogant jackass who thought Thrall was a wuss for not rolling over the Alliance during Wrath was even more irritating.  Not to mention the diplomatic incidents he causes by having a shoving match with Boyking McChinsalot

To get an opportunity to kill him, only he escapes, to be part of the next expansion?  Yeah.  Fuck that.

It's cool though, Metzen called us a "superpower" at Blizzcon, didn't you hear?  Ohhhhh, I see.

But yeah I dunno, anyone know any numbers from earlier tiers? I mean Siege hasn't been laying around for as long as the last tier obviously, but it's not like it came out last week either. It's only moved a few percentage points in the last five or six weeks.

At least for me, I've only cared about last 2 wings of ToT LFR and the first two wings of SoO LFR for the Titan Runestone drops to get the legendary cloak.

SoO in LFR is a long slog. The individual wings sometimes take 2 hours or more to complete, especially if you get a "Stop DPS on boss in defensive stance!!111" kind of bad group. I suspect that contributes to low completion %. I also suspect those numbers will increase over the coming weeks/months before WoD release.

What actually interests me more is the 60-80% completion rate of ToT. I think that speaks volumes as to the success of LFR.

SoO is utter shite.

Really, really badly designed, clunky, full of stupid fucking trash and makes no sense whatsoever without reading Metzen.

Fuck it.

The first part is the most confusing to me. I'm in a sewer? I'm fighting an elemental sewer god? How is this an assault? Why am I fighting dead guardians?

It's not like that's a new thing. Sewer raiding has been a storied tradition in WoW since 2007.

I will say that the SoO pipe boss is much easier than the Naxx pipe boss.

I have to agree with this. Too much trash that takes far too fucking long.

The only fight that I actually think is fun in there is Siegecrafter Blackfuse. And everyone I raid with thinks I'm insane for liking that...

I think ToT trash was way worse. The stupid fucking banshees alone.

The only trash that really bothers me for SoO is the trash around the "town" part of Ogrimmar with the AH etc. I get what they were going for (you're really raiding Orgrimmar! look how many people are here!) but it's still way too much. For the rest of the instance tons of the trash is skippable but I'm not sure how much actually gets skipped on LFR.

Huh?  When you look at it in the overall, there is not a lot of skippable trash in SoO.  The the majority of the skippable trash in the whole place is anything not in the shortest path between Protectors and Nouroshen, and anything not in the shortest path between Door->Malkorok->Spoils, which has an "illusion of skippable trash since we never intended you to kill most of these anyway" thing going on.    Pretty much every other trash mob bar one or two odd pulls here or there needs to be cleared to get from one boss to the next, with the odd excpetion of some stuff that can be cheese-reset (like triggering the cutscene before Seigecrafter to despawn half of the trash in the preceeding room).

This is still "skippable" trash, any not necessarily trash that gets skipped on LFR where anonymous douchebags may pull/multishot trash that you could have simply skipped. I don't remember what trash is missing from LFR, but on normal at least there is bunch of skippable trash after Protectors, after Dark Shaman, and after Nazgrim.

Yeah, it's not like they've got Jim Cummings narrating what the fuck is going on in that entire wing or anything.  swamp poop

I think it was more of the whole disconnect between the first area and the rest.     If they had split it into two raids, with the "Desecration of the Vale" being one raid, and Seige of Org being a seperate raid, no one would have noticed.   But linking them the way they did was sort of jarring.   I mean, at least when they did it in Dragonsoul, the location transitions were much more seamless and made more sense in a way.
