I hate those fucking commercials because they subtly rely on a pernicious stereotype, which is that you're equating your Self with your in-game character. From there, it just all gets gross.

Yeah, that's a really confusing ad.  NCSoft usually makes awesome ads that make me want to play the game even when I know the game isn't that great, I wonder what went wrong here.

Press release: Re-opened direct sales and a new Our Time is Now* video commercial.

Kinda ok video. Was thinking I was watching a TSW spot by accident at first, but then got the WoW "I'm a Night Elf Mohawk" vibe by the middle of it.

* Videos on GW2 site not loading for me so this is to YouTube.

I should take up vandalism or firewalking to be extreme enough for this game.

I'll just choose to remember the spray-painting chick was cute and forget everything else.  (It was really bad though.)

Finally got around to watching video, suck confirmed. I guess they were going for an Apple-goes-up-against-Microsoft-commercial vibe? Don't think that really worked.

Profession bundle weapons (engineer kits, elementalist conjure skills, warrior banners) can now save their autoattack status.

Plusses: Got my last Orr zone 100%ed.
Minuses: My main character is now stuck in a 'game immediately crashes on login' state. Video driver update did not fix.

I can't dump my karma into items from the weaponsmith trainer anymore, that sucks.  Not that I've bothered playing in a while.

This thing that boots you out of your portal keeps is poorly done. Not only is it buggy as shit, but its also a spawn campers wet dream.  The timer is way too shorts.  I get booted trying to sell stuff, buying seige and repairing armor.  Hardly loitering. I like idea, but it needs to thought out better.

So maybe Anet finally put in code to reset bugged encounters.   Just read this on another board

Quote
When the reset hit last night my guildies who needed it dogpiled into Malchor's leap to get the Bayt Falen (sp?) skill point that's been bugged forever. Some guardian banished it and bugged it out again about 5 minutes later.

From the sound on Teamspeak I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance for multiple rage-induced heart attacks.

3 minutes later, whatever bugfix code Anet put in kicked in and the skill point mob reset. And there was much rejoicing. It was hilarious.

"Dungeons

Reduced the difficulty of creatures and bosses, particularly health and armor.

Citadel of Flame
Fixed exploits that allowing players to speed clear paths of this dungeon.
Reduced difficulty of the Searing Effigy."

Nerfing of dungeons underway.  Thank god.

I'm waiting for a "all story modes are now facerolls" patch note before I bother going back in.

Even more minus-y: "Thank you for contacting NCsoft Technical Support. We do not currently have the ability to move or reset characters."

Luckily the 2nd patch they applied last night fixed my dude or I'd be ready to start practicing my stabbing.

They might be able to move a character who is logged in. Moving one who isn't logged in is a fair bit trickier, to be fair.

Actually they probably can't move a player that's logged in, but you rarely have to since you can just port somewhere.

Appears this was a glitch. The actual change was so that you can't run back to the portal keep after you leave it.  The only way to go back is to way-point to it.

Guardian
We are moving towards retaliation being more of a counter to taking many hits rather than a general boon to keep up all the time. We also wanted to improve the combo finisher of the guardian, so we reorganized guardian greatsword skills to the following:
Skill 2: Whirling Wrath (10 second recharge)
Skill 3: Leap of Faith (15 second recharge)
Skill 4: Symbol of Wrath (20 second recharge)

Y U MOVE MY BUTTANS

Seriously, fuck around with what they do to your heart's content, BUT WHY MOVE THEM AROUND >< >< >< >< ><
