My enjoyment of the game?

I just mean, I don't see the parallels between Demon Souls and A Link to the Past, is a better way to say it. How is Demon Souls a 'Zelda Clone' ?
I don't agree with the constant "X game is like Y game" comparisons when it comes to games, but if you think about it, Demon Souls is just a gritty Zelda clone.

I don't even understand that. Zelda was never a nut cruncher the way Demon Souls is.

Disagrees!

Bwa!?  First Zelda wasnt that hard at all.  My retarded 5 year old self was able to beat it.  This is what you meant:

That one I felt was the hardest of them all.

Hard only because it was terrible.  It is the only Zelda that I feel was an outright failure, yet somehow I still managed to beat it.  TP was bad, but at least mildly coherent.

The original Zelda was the first game that showed me a true adventure.  I had fun with text based RPGs on my Ti99-4a and I had fun with my 2600 games, but nothing gave me that first jaw-drop gameplay like the first Zelda.

I would have loved Zelda II if it was Zelda I with a different map.  I would love to play Zelda I today with different maps.

Kind of surprised nobody has made one, frankly - surely some little indy game maker has and I just haven't found it yet.

Zelda I was just perfection.

I own a Wii and have it hooked up and I still didn't even know this was coming out until like two weeks ago.  I haven't enjoyed a Zelda game since Orciana of Time and Link to the Past was still the best one....funny, the best Final Fantasy was the SNES one too imo.  awesome, for real  Maybe I just have too many fond memories of that system.

You should try Bastion.

On a sort of related note:

Where are the Zelda clones? I mean, Link to the Past style games, those can't be too expensive to make, seems like something a indy studio would want to try their hands at?

Bastion was sort of like a Zelda clone (but not really, still a great game in it's own right!).
Do they exist and I just don't know about them?

3D Dot heroes?

Yeah, so, why does Nintendo make such beautiful games only to let the hardware desecrate it?

This is how it should look...

Isn't the new Wii supposed to be HD? Or is it only a shitty handheld that attaches to a Wii?

It's supposed to be HD, yeah.  But all anyone's seen are super early prototypes, so who knows what the actual release hardware will be.

Although if there is a Skyward Sword bundle with the doohickey that turns my wiimotes into proper-wiimotes, I might be more inclined.

Yeah, I bought that bundle.  Twenty bucks extra for a gold wiimote plus, works for me!

Kid opened this today, the game appears to be fun.  The Wii really renders it like dogshit, though.  N64-stlye jaggies.

I'm crossing my fingers that the WiiU will be able to re-render (not upscale) Wii games in higher res. There are a lot of Wii games that look really good but are held back by resolution. Chances for that are probably small, but based on my limited technical understanding it doesn't seem like it should be that difficult.

My eldest beat this not all that long ago, and then promptly restarted it to play it again.  Of course, she's adored every Zelda game made since she was able to play them so you'll have to take that into account.

Got this for the lady. She likes it, and while the lack of AA is a disappointment. The art style is really quite clever. The splotchy pointillism coupled with the odd Mipping that down samples to more splotchy pointillism is, intriguing. Its a clear collaboration between art and tech that works really well. Now about that AA.....
