The sequel to War for Cybertron. A few new details came out a couple days ago.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/10/06/november-cover-revealed-transformers-fall-of-cybertron.aspx

Rumors are that Grimlock, Bruticus (combiner) and Metroplex (Huge city sized autobot transformer) are playable characters.

Squeeing over a decidedly-not movie game.

I haven't followed the movies or the games much - the first one coincided with the first film, right?

I shall nerdsplain.

War for Cybertron, and now Fall of Cybertron, are games made by High Moon studios. They are not tied to any existing interation of the franchise, but make nods and references to them. They have nothing much to do with Bay's movies, and are closer to the G1 cartoon and various comics series.

WFC has been regarded by a lot of people (according to reviews and comments on the intertubes) as the first decent video game based on the Transformers franchise.

War for Cybertron came out in 2010. No movie came out that year actually.

This one doesn't take place in Shia LeBouf's planet. So it's safe from the taint. The less human, the better.

Straz has never been that clever.

I'd check the WFC thread to see if he posted there, but I'm far too lazy.

WFC reallly pushed all the right buttons for me.  I am just the right age to be irrationally attached to this retro version of Transformers, which I guess means I'm old.

To be fair, the last movie game was made by High Moon, but it was a chopped down, feature lite, activisioned version of WFC.  I'm hoping for more from Fall of Cybertron.

Yeah, the Movie one was universally panned, which was a bit of a shock for me, since it was meant to be by the same team with the same engine and the same transforming robots.

I can only hope it's because the team was too busy spitting on efigy of Bay.

Oh hai there! Have a teaser trailer of Grimlock.

And it looks like all the dinobots are in. The concept art is pretty goddamn snazzy.

Sorry. Getting caught up, I've been busy this month. I thought this article was damn interesting. The AI and transformation modes are linked together.

So these guys have different AI behaviors based on what's going on, and have different modes for each behavior.

But I'd say the same of any video where Starscream gets punched in the scone.

... Really? I liked it. Sure, it's a lot like the Gears trailers, but I think it fit well.

Transformers could run with some sci-fi tracks, not this angst soundtrack that is ill-fit for the trailer.
It really reminds me of the Linkin Park soundtrack that accompanied the shit movies.

This fall when Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers are tearing through Cybertron in the shiny metal skin of Grimlock, PC gamers will remain earthbound, forced to witness the grand robot battles from afar. After a poor showing on the PC for Transformers: War for Cybertron, High Moon Studios isn't even going to attempt to port the follow-up.

Yes. This bothers me. I'd hate to buy an XBox 360 for just one game.
