I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, but the Vanquish demo is out in NA now.

Normally I suck at shooters, but this one seems to play really good.  The gameplay is well adapted for my ineptitude at playing shooters with a pad.

First time Dev house + movie tie-in makes me very nervous.

I fear that Castlevania is not going to be a very good game. The build at E3 was pretty bad. Basically it's just not fun and it has tons of cutscenes / QTEs that are awkward and intrusive.

I'm hoping that what was shown at E3 is not representative of the final game as I love me some Castlevania.

This is how I would summarize the E3 build:

You watch a cutscene of a werewolf appearing.
The game switches to gameplay and it says "press R2 to grab" as you stand over a big log
You press R2 and the game goes back to a cutscene of you impaling the werewolf with the log you picked up

They are obviously trying to integrate the gameplay and the QTEs but rather than a cohesive unit it came off to me as a mediocre brawler constantly interrupted with Dragon's Lair gameplay.

Again hoping I end up wrong here.

Those are all good points, but in its favor, it does have Robert Carlyle doing the voice of the main character.

I tried out the R.U.S.E. demo on my PS3.  The PS3 froze when I selected a tank.  The ruse was indeed on me.

I'll probably eventually end up buying half of the stuff on that list. Once they start hitting the various Bargain Bins. Only thing I might buy at close to Full Price (well, Full UK Price - which is like 40% off Australian RRP) is FIFA 11. And Maybe Fallout.

Betting on Civ5 not being shit, and set it to preload. Don't let me down, Sid.

I've heard some comments that what was shown at TGS was a lot better than what they showed at E3.  Obviously it's hard to tell if that's a result of improvements made to the game, or just different parts being shown.

I bet my friend $5 that you'll be able to hide under a cardboard box in Castlevania.  Cutscenes are the least of my worries.  At least I have the DS games and C:HD.

Looks like Two Worlds 2 is delayed until January according to Co-Optimus

I know the first was largely dismissed but it somehow ended up being one of the rare games that I've actually completed. I take this as good news though, as I don't mind spreading out some of my 'must buys' at this point.

I enjoyed the first, and  Ohhhhh, I see. at impatient gamers who can't wait for the official release. Get a grip, ffs. There's a bunch of good games out there to play, a boatload of decent ones to fill in.

It's only a month. You're lucky it's not into next year. Sounds like they just needed a couple weeks before going gold, which I'm ok with.

It's been four years since the first missed release date.

I think this one is totally legit though.

This holiday sucked.  Pretty much just Fallout and Civ.  Can we get the Spring 2011 up so I have something to look forward to at least?

I'm still waiting for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The multiplayer beta was fun enough as a distraction, and I loved AC2.

I'm also waiting for AC: Brotherhood even though I wasn't a big fan of AC2.  Brotherhood's multiplayer looks too fun to pass up and the single player seems to have been refined a bit.

Really liking Castlevania LoS.  Would have skipped it if the trailer in this thread didn't catch my eye.  So I say good holiday!

What are the MP features of AC:BH?
When you join a multiplayer game, you're given the picture of a target and a directional indicator; you've got to make your way to the target and kill him, while other player(s) are trying to hunt and kill you. More points are rewarded for stylish or stealthy kills; running will allow your target to know who is chasing him, which then gives the target an opportunity to avoid you. If he breaks LOS or hides for a certain time, you lose your contract and he gets points for escaping. You also lose your contract if you kill the wrong target; there are only ~10 character models, so a common strategy is to hide amongst NPCs who share your model. It has a leveling system which unlocks new abilities (sprint, shape shifting, etc.) but I didn't play enough of the beta to mess with many of them. In addition to this relative free-for-all mode, I believe there will be a 2v2v2 mode (Team A hunts Team B, B hunts C, C hunts A) and Hunter mode, where 1 player is an assassin and the others must kill him before he takes out his target (one of them).

Sorry, I thought we were having a conversation here. Douche.

Sounds interesting, I'm not too sure about the character model limit, though. I guess I'll wait and see on the feedback.

I don't mean characters on screen, I mean unique types of characters. It's necessarily small so that you have NPCs that look like the PCs for the purpose of hiding, blending in, etc. I only played a few rounds of the beta and did make a few mistake kills (which cost you your contract); if every model looked unique then it would be too easy to spot your target and it would be more about chasing someone down then actually stalking and assassinating a target.

~3 min AC Brotherhood multiplayer walkthrough

On an unrelated note, I cannot believe how bad the voices are in the Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom demo.  It realeses in Nov and I was looking forward to it after learning it was from the same developer of Folklore.

In Folklore I wished there was more voice work since the little there was good, but in Majin I want to mute everyone.  The Majin beast tries to sound like an endearing dummy but comes off as an annoying idiot, the thief is Aladdin's inbred cousin, and the talking animals should have stayed silent. I would much rather have everything be text only.

I also remember a preview of Majin explained it has an environmental message.  If the tar monsters and talking animals are anything to go by then the final level will be a reforestation project.  Add in the cheesy victory dance after battle and this does not seem to be the follow up to Folklore I was hoping for.

Gah, now I'm pining for Folklore.  Such a pretty game.  I even liked its motion controls.  Maybe I'll keep my Majin preorder and hope I go deaf by release.

For AC: Brotherhood, I'm not a big fan of exclusive preorder skins for multiplayer.  Seems like it would be an advantage that not everyone has, which for multiplayer, is not exactly fair or fun.

If you can't easily tell between player characters and NPCs (like, by some UI mechanicism) other than your current target, that mode will be arguably the coolest multiplayer mode in a game I've seen.

I played the demo on the 360. It was ok. Not great, not a must have, not terrible.
