Warhammer 40k mmo is called WH40k: Dark Millenium Online. A one minute trailer is all we get. No idea what game is like, other then yo there are health bars and you shoot people.

That Nexon game Vindictus is pretty neat. Click to attack. I threw a box at a worm. Might be neat?

I played Medal of Honor muliplayer. It is Modern Warfare 2, as imagined by dice.

Tera Online is actually pretty damn cool. The combat feels quite solid. This is the one I'll talk about most later.

Paul Barnett is currently screaming on the EA stage. Time to run.

He was on stage in EA's booth during the Sims 3 for consoles hypefest.

Nothing terribly exciting in the west hall that there isn't a line for (3DS, Twisted Metal, Killzone 3) - everything I've wanted to check out so far has been line free, or by press appointment only (Brink, Rage, Deus Ex).

The graphical filtery thing for Kane and Lynch 2 looks pretty neat. Pretty standard other than that.

Bunch of fangirls in the Squeenix booth, pretty hilarious.

I got a temporary tattoo at the booth for that luchador game.

It's definitely a smaller show overall, with what was Kentia Hall essentially being shoved into the sides of the two main halls.

DCUO and verify if the animations are as choppy as the trailers make them look.

At home now. Show floor closed for today an hour and a half ago.

I'll try to peg up more of it after I relax for a bit.

That game... I dunno. Nothing jumped out at me, other then the fact that they were demoing on PC and PS3 side by side, in the same PvP match. They were doing Heroes vs. Villains, and oh my goodness. Some of the animations were pretty bad. Someone was playing an archer character with gold wings, and he was standing right on top of a turret shooting at it, and it had to be one of the clunkiest animations I'd seen.

I think our taste in games differs too much for me to have any specific recommendations though.

Maybe if there's anything special being shown off at E3 for FFXIV though?

Looks friggin' awful. Right click anchors your mouse, and then you move it around like an analog stick to move the camera. Incredibly slow-paced combat. The only difference I could tell between FFXIV and FFXI were that you had little timer bars to tell when you were going to attack again in FFXIV.

Maybe it was just because most of the other decent MMOs that I saw there were all click-to-attack, and MUCH faster paced, but this felt glacially slow. Lots of text dialog for back and forth talking.

The Agency, hands on playtime of SWTOR, whatever Cryptic's new MMO is, Fallout Vegas...

The Agency had a trailer. Hooray. I'm sure it's online somewhere already. It looks like they stole Modern Warfare 2's weapon customization, so that's nice at least.

I didn't see Cryptic anywhere.

SW:TOR was by press appointment only.

Fallout: New Vegas was by press appointment only, as was Brink, Rage and Hunted: The whateverwhatever.

Oh yes, Clone Wars.

They did have this on display, and while I didn't actually bother to stop and play it, I watched over some shoulders for a few minutes.

The lightsaber combat seems to be a simon-says series of arrow key presses that you have to do in a certain window of time, and then the animation plays out. I watched someone do a little starfighter combat, and that seems to be point your mouse to fly around, and click on stuff to shoot it. All quite nice looking - it seems they plugged in some extra features to the FreeRealms engine.

Lego MMO? The videos we saw looked awesome and there were playable things going on.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

From most accounts there's a specific distance and angle for the 3DS. If you move out of either it looks like shit.

Don't really know the purpose or understand the whole Valve bait-and-switch thing prior to the Portal 2 announcement/demoreel but I can largely ignore bizarre attempts at reverse-hype when the actual footage/gameplay they've shown breaks my fucking brain with awesome. Here's a link to a preview from IGN's E3 coverage.

I think that's Portal 2 with Steam Cloud/Steamworks support - things like automatic updates, etc.  Steam on a console would be quite nice though.

Yea, my main excitement is steam on PS3. My friend is going to be happy he can get portal 2 on his shiny new PS3. I wonder if tis is related to the removial of the other OS boot... Perhaps its been removed for users...so developers can easy port....

I know that Portal 2 will be on PS3 - I'm just not sure how far they're going.  From the conference, I got the impression that Portal 2 will be on PS3 with Steamworks/Steam Cloud features.  If they go full-on 'Steam on PS3', I'm definitely keen on that, though.

I can't envision Sony allowing Steam on the PS3 as a distribution mechanism, because it'd be in competition with their own online store.  Simply using its multiplayer and community features for some games seems much more likely.

I guess i got the terminology wrong then, I take it it will be everything but the store system. Because this is steamworks. Many sites are simply saying "Steam" though.

Yeah, but with having an OpenGL render path in Source now, there's no reason not to port it to the PS3 for some more bux.

Those were some very sexy videos. Valve games just ooze style and character and they can basically take the gameplay elements from all the "physics puzzle" games and put them in immersive first person.

Extending steam store to the PS3 is fairly pointless since the manufacturer has their own equivalent. However making it so that a steam game can be easily ported to or from the consoles is an interesting tactical move. Valve/Steam gains a lot more form having a uniform and widespread environment as opposed to the console owners whose interests are to wall off their garden. Maybe based on an assumption that as games become more expensive and the consoles more powerful generic cross-platform games will be the way to recoup the money.
