There were some good moments for Rusty, Dean, and Hank.

- Rusty actually did a hell of a job as a parent, and Dean stepped up rather than curling up in a ball as he is wont to do.
- I soooo want Hank to become more Batman.
- Phantom Limb going completely around the bend was decent.

There's no reason to blame Warburton.

2. Brock's absence has nothing to do with Patrick Warburton. He didn't ask for more money, he's not too busy for us, he hasn't refused to come back or anything of the sort. It was a creative choice on our part, and Brock WILL be back in the show at some point. Just not this week. Or next.

LESS HATRED THE CRAZY PEDOPHILE PEDESTRIAN.  It's just creepy.

FIFY.

This was an ep with quite a few funny one-liners/gags but plot wise wasn't much.

For some reason my favorite bit was the fact that the shoe was Dr. Girlfriend's.

You so rightly point out why even a weaker Venture episode is great viewing:  The depth.  The little in-jokes and one-liners that are spattered throughout that reward the assiduous viewer.  Rusty still calls the jumpsuits "speed suits", Dr. Girlfriend's shoe, the flashback to Sandow and Colonel Venture, the fact that "Chuck" proves his worth, Billy Quizboy wears the Rusty Venture pajamas, Phantom Limb calling himself the "Victor of the Battle of Cremation Creek".

Everything is so well set-up.

Even the use of the music from Boorman's Excalibur during the anointing scene made me giggle.

LOL, it was great with a ton of references to old shows.  The GoCI is a failure.  Phantom Limb is a failure.  Even the great, grand conspiracy is a failure.

The whole show is about failure - the creators have flat out stated that. The Revenge Society was brilliant, especially Hank telling Hatred that he needed to go kill himself to take care of "what God forget." I cracked the fuck up at that line.

Wooo, great Triad stuff. Love those guys.

And 21 v. Brock next week. Giggity.

They also said 'Season Finale' which seems like an awfully short season. Even for them.

I think they're going for two half seasons (?) Not sure where I heard that, might have just made it up.

The upside of that is we get 16 instead of 13 episodes.

I don't know what ran long, but the fuckers were about 10 mins late so I missed the end portion of it on my DVR.  Finally caught it a few mins ago and it felt like it petered out there at the end.

That happened to me, too.  I think it was all those stupid Xmas ads!

So are you saying I shouldn't bother DLing or or finding a rebroadcast to find out how it ends?

No kidding.  Assholes.  And apparently they don't play full episodes on the Adult Swim site and there are no more rebroadcasts.  Shaking fist

They dont play full episodes? I'm pretty sure they do since that's where I watch them but it is segmented.

It will play another commercial after that and start the second section... unless you exit out of it or select to play that clip endlessly.  To view the next section click that link and then hit the section skip (|>) to watch section 2.

I'm not able to watch Venture Bros. (or Metalocalypse etc) on the US adultswim site thanks to region restrictions, but I've finally managed to get back on the wagon with Venture Bros. on surf the channel. Links are all megavideo based so you're limited to about 80 minutes viewtime in a single stretch but that should be more than sufficient to catch up on an episode or two.

Good midseason finale. And they didn't even go for a cheesy cliffhanger!

I really like the way the 21 story arc has gone.

Loved Monstroso's diplomas: Rancor University, Brotherhood of Menace, Harvard Business School.

Fucking Brockness Monster and Jedi 21.

Bad. Ass.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Great episode!

So was Monarch's head supposed to catch on fire?  Monstroso kept trying to get him to smoke a cigar and the lackey had the ether-soaked handkerchief.
