There are times when I'd love to live in a city like that, but I just don't think I could. I like trees too much. And a 15 minute commute to work.

Our studio is in the basement, and I, too have a lovely view of off-white walls. So I'll also substitute a photo of my back yard, with added bonus of my five-year-old: (For you city types, that's wheat)

Hey, I see a tree down there! And I'll take my tree-filled back yard and work view and a 4 minute commute :) Going home to relax on my patio for lunch is amazing. Not to mention a house that cost 1/10th of what Grimwell paid for his "deal"

We call him "Total Justice".
Has he hung around since that one day? I work from home most of the time but I dock at the mothership in NJ once every quarter for meetings and such. This is what I get to look at this week:

Then the crash put something in my target range and I chose to win. Ideally, it would be a cabin surrounded by woods with a nearby creek and a phat pipe of interweb wired in, but hey... we take what we have to some times.

Can't do pics, as my phone is an ancient piece of shit.
Also, doing so would only be "somewhat" creepy, I think.

It looks really tall but not Airplane-y.
It's on a hill and I'm on the 2nd floor. I think they keep items back there and prepare them to truck them out. I'm really not sure what's back there, it's not huge, but a semi truck would probably clear it.

When I worked there, I was a 10 minute commute away and central park was directly across the street from my house. Trees and a short commute.

I will bring my camera, but so far a lot of freaky Tokyo signs. I think the orange elephant wants me to buy health insurance. Or maybe videos of Japanese puppets touching each other. I'm not sure, my Japanese is still shaky.

If it's the orange elephant I'm thinking of, he's telling you to stay healthy.

While it lacks a window, my commute is only 15 minutes of back roads and I'm in a great location.
Of course I'm looking to buy again and that is going to make the commute at least 30 to 45 minutes. I'm conflicted.

Forgot to take an actual picture. So here's the street view, just from the street angle instead of my floor: The cross street up-ahead? 6th Street.

I'm in a prestigious corner cubicle these days, so I have a few windows to pick from, but this is the one that doesn't require me to turn around:

Why don't you walk over there and open them up? He your boss or something?
He whines about it being too bright. I've been down this path and it's an annoying one. Also, sorry for it being rotated. Didn't realize that happened. Fixed it! If I was sitting there I would have them shut too, at least when the sun was shining in. If I happen to be awake in the morning and am on my computer, there are times I can't really see what's on the screen because of the sun shining through the window, even with the curtain drawn (I need thicker curtains). When I was at Adobe most of us in my department setup our cubicles as "caves" to cut out as much overhead light as possible. We were working on Sun workstations that had large but low brightness screens and they didn't have any anti-glare coating on them so every bit of extraneous light got bounced off. In my cubicle I "disabled" 2 of the 3 overhead fluorescent light tubes in each panel and I had large pieces of art board mounted horizontally on the top cubicle wall edges (ours were full height walls) over my monitors to block out even more of the light. In the most extreme case somebody brought in one of those patio umbrellas and set it up in her cubicle. Last time we changed offices, they asked myself and the other supervisor if we wanted the window seats. We both responded no quite quickly. Window seats facing a sunny side equal 10 degree temperature shifts throughout the day, a complete inability to see what's on your monitor, and all the bitching by those not sitting right next to the window about why you won't open the blinds for them.

No picture, but it is one of the better views in Boulder. Second floor window with an unobstructed view of the Flatirons. One of the VPs has this tiny office next to us and has been in it for ages as it is supposed to be the "best" view in Boulder. Thankfully there is a height restriction on buildings downtown.
Pics. Sorry, have been stuck in the field the past week. Lovely Saudi Auroria. I do have to lean to the right to get the full view. The window on my left has a nice view of the mall and all the smelly hippies.

This thread was a pretty good idea. Definitely got some cool pictures out of it.
The drama over the window is at an end. We've compromised. He's got the vertical blinds turned so that the light doesn't affect his monitor but we can still see outside a bit.

Pretty sure I won't be allowed to take work pictures when I start my new job in a few weeks.
However, assuming I get the place, I'll have to take a few pictures of and from the place I will be staying in for the better part of a year.
