If you have a regular group to play with the game CAN be fun, but that's mostly a function of the people rather than the core mechanics.

THIS.

What realm incentive/pride is there, regardless of whether I am playing with any real-life friends or not?

Is there any realm cohesion for the realm's sake? It seemed to me that concept was still completely missing in WAR.

It still seems as though people who come from WoW might like it simply because they don't know what they are missing wrt realm pride, but people from DAoC may not like it because they are well aware of what it is missing.
