I'm jealous that you can convince your girlfriend to lift a TV.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Since I've spent the last 14 weeks lying down she's considerably stronger than I am now  DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

The only other one tempting me is WipEout HD

I picked this up.  amazingly beautiful.  Way, way harder then previous iterations of wipeout.  Just be warned you will get very agrevated.  might be best to put pillows around your new TV so that the controller doesn't break the TV when you throw it...

I'm thinking about getting a PS3 at some point in the future. I really do with they had the BC thing sorted out. I love playing old games and I do that really often. The "owning a PS3" would be a non issue if Namco got off their ass and released a Gun Barl Collection for the PS3 with a GunCon3. I would own a PS3 tomorrow if that was the case.  Ohhhhh, I see.

On another note, I own a 46'' Panasonic Plasma and it is hot as shit. Newer plasmas don't get burn in. I like my tv.

My Genesis games... LET ME SHOW YOU THEM!

Oh my gentle jesus you're not wrong there. I suck so hard at this game the windows cave in when I play. I've been practicing tracks in Racebox/Speed Lap and seem to be getting the hang of them... and then I go into Campaign and even with the AI set on Blind Braindamaged Chimpanzee I just fall apart! Oddly though it doesn't get me frustrated... I think I've just accepted that I'm going to be completely useless at it and just enjoy the speed and music and shinys  awesome, for real

Also, 3 weeks on, we are loving the TV greatly. I've tinkered with the settings and done some semi-proper calibration and it just looks awesome. PS3 games look absolutely fantastic, blurays are stunning - so much so that it's difficult to pay attention to the film because I'm too busy going "wow. wtf. omg" at the picture. Upscales dvds and SD broadcasts beautifully and with some tweaking even low-res media streaming via the PS3 looks decent.

Saddest thing though... my favourite thing is the green & red on/off LED's that are floating in glass with no visible wiring or anything! So cool  awesome, for real

Not sure where to put this, but I'm just wondering.. Does Microsoft have a lot of "quaint" indie-ish games on Arcade? I haven't really kept up with gaming in the past year, but perusing around now, it seems like Sony is really investing into a lot of this type of stuff for PSN. I know Microsoft has XNA and all that, but what's come of it so far?

There's a good number of community games. However I haven't looked at any of them.

They've got Braid, which scored high some people, but was created by a douchebag and most praise for it hit 11 on the pretentious-o-meter. I thought it was a average puzzler with time mechanics and lots of jumping on goombas albeit with good visuals and audio.

Castle Crashers (by the same guys that did Alien Hominid) was also released, which was a fun side scrolling beat'm'up in the same vein as Final Fight or Golden Axe.  I thought it was pretty good, but apparently the network aspect of it was broke as fuck.  I seem to remember you taking your action RPG / beat'm'ups fairly seriously, so this one might be on the simple side for you.  The style and humor in this title is just great.

Both Penny Arcade games made it to XBL Arcade.

There is also a Bomberman release, Age of Booty, and a host of game retreads, board games, classics and older games released on Arcade.  Overall, it's got a pretty decent library and that's before you add in the XBox Originals you can get for 15 a pop.   I'm not really into indie gaming or retro gaming just to do it, so it hasn't impacted me much.

Well, it wasn't much of a selling point to me at first, but they do add some further value and differentiation now that I've played a few things.

I like Alien Hominid.. I would probably get a kick out of that actually.

[edit] "Indie" is probably a bad term to use here though. Many of the quirky games on PSN are Sony branded actually. So I guess I just mean any game/idea off the beaten path and that probably wouldn't convince a publisher to box it -- but might convince them to fund it for online delivery. It's doubtful that I'd ever see the Last Guy or something at a GameStop, but it's pretty cool that it has some way to reach an audience.
