Righteous! What could possibly more American than Bacon and Apple Pie?

Bacon and Apple pie with a Marlboro and a Budweiser. Storming the beaches of Normandy, of course.

I meant back in WWII. However, I'm worried that you knew that I now do that with Call of Duty also.

He's referring to his Captain America jammies with the sock-feet and the hoodie.

Behold. Some day, I hope to have the opportunity to throw a reference to "my charcutier" into a blog post. I got to this from your link. My grandmother and aunt used to make their own pancetta. It really was Seriously Good. I'm very tempted to give this recipe a go.

I am up for a lot of things, but home curing meat sounds like a quick way to end up in the hospital.

People had to do it back in the day out of necessity though; I guess it's just a lost skill. I honestly wouldn't know how you actually cure meat.

So I made some of these tonight. Filled it with shrimp that was cooked in a lemon/butter sauce, then cut up. Mixed the shrimp up with gouda cheese grits, with a bit of finely chopped onion. Topped with Tony Chachere's Cajun Creole seasoning.
ZOMGGOOD.
I think I'm going to be sick.

Bacon cups sound great, but this could mean bacon would replace bread as the acknowledged vehicle for meat as cheese. This must not happen.
I, for one, will not let the holy trifecta of bread and meat and cheese be broken up by this imposter.
Shame on you all. Only bread can deliver the gooey mixture of meat and cheese to our gullets with both the capacity and absorbancy to make us all not look like slobs. Only bread can sufficiently mop up the greasy gravy from the side of the bowl to minimize waste. Only bread can give us the squishy contrast to the tough yet tasty bacon, and the slimy yet satisfying texture of melted cheese.
Heretics. Misguided sheep. Beware the bacon cup, it consists of heart attacks and a culinary false prophet.

Tony Chachere's Cajun Creole seasoning.
One of the best seasonings ever invented btw.

Oh yeah. Goes on anything. And it's awfully hard to use too much.
Eggs are especially good with it.

There are levels. It's not really difficult, but of course you want to watch out for rancidity when curing anything with fat. Jerky, which uses lean meat, is extremely easy to cure and I've been making it since I was a kid. In fact, I need to make another batch soon.

Oh, I already found it. And the only think stopping me from gaining like twice my actual weight in a very short time period is the fact that no one would cook me one of those holy grails of food. And I'm just too lazy. But that Bacon Cup, well, doesn't seem to take a lot of time and the filling possibilities are ENDLESS

Seriously, do a search on “bacon scarf” and look at the other bacon scarves out there. They use a paltry two colors, and they don’t look as realistic as this! As if the idea of a bacon scarf isn't weird enough, apparently it is well enough known to generate smack talk about other bacon scarf makers.

I used to make my own Biltong in college. It's yummy. And yea - you just want to make sure it's dry. I used lemon and salt and pepper mostly.
