No stations in Dital at all, just belts and gates.

Closest Empire-side clone station in Naeel, 2 jumps from Dital.  I've parked myself there for now.

Thanks for that, Ajax: everyone should remember to set their clone in Naeel in advance: Ending up near Reisen if you get popped would leave you kinda far away...

Nerf and I are flying dual drakes. Our goal is to hunt down, web and omgwtfpwn anything cruiser sized and smaller. We're hoping to eat inties and generally lock down faster ships that are orbiting us like a bulldog grabbing onto a leg.

I don't feel like losing my Drake just yet, but I'll be taking my 'clone that's just hanging out in Hek right now to at least the gatecamp.  It'll be a BC extravaganza.

I've also got Wing Command now, and I'm training it and the other leadership skills up a bit at a time. Woot.

Due to standings issues, I'm doubting CVA will want a Triumvirate dude down there. If I brought 7 I'd see A LOT more action than you all :)

I have a Caldari alt that can has some solid skills...Expect a drake or raven.

Looking like good numbers: I think this is the biggest number of sign-ups we've had yet.  Remember, BC people, that this is a chance to have a sneaky look around Providence space and see if it is for you.

Also, remember that only the head of Aegis and a couple of others have discussed that so far, so keep schtum!

PS Good idea, Slay...it might be a bit too lively otherwise.

Asked in the FAQ thread but since this one is more active:

What is the Eve time zone and what time does 2000 Eve time equal for U.S. Eastern Standard?

It's 11:46 EDT right now, and Eve says 16:46... so Eve is straight GMT.

It turns out I can come as well. I'll be in a Domi for the gatecamp and probably a interceptor for the frigate thing.

I'll fit a large remote armor rep on the domi, and if anyone else want to play spider tank or at least have a remote armor repper fitted I'd be very happy since I won't be able to rep myself.

edit: Turns out that I've forgotten to train the remote armor rep skill  embarassed, so I guess I will fit a normal repper instead.

I'll certainly write it up from my point of view, but we toured Delve, shot station services in T-MOFA, got cocky and went to NOL-, killed a Bob Cerberus and scared off his friend in a mega, went to their staging system in PR-, provoked them into sending a huge fleet in, toured a bit more, headed out, engaged a lowsec corp on the 0.0 gate, killed over 1/3 a billion more in ships, died in our crappy ships and toured out.

In the end, the lowsec corp may have got their asses kicked, but they were the most dangerous thing we met  awesome, for real

For the first time, I really enjoyed FCing...

Part of me wanted to stick around and see how many captails BoB would have dropped on us.  But the fight with Thorn was with well worth it.

People were too scared of our camp, so we went to round two: "frigate swarm: comedy assault into delve" which quickly turned into "actual skirmish and BoB bloody nose" followed by "frigate swarms are fucking deadly, yo."

We came...

We shot at a bunch of their stations, trying to piss them off...

Then, we bloodied their nose by killing a Cerberus, a Caldari HAC worth more than our entire fleet (150m). And his little pod too. (Watch it here!)

We traveled around BoB's main staging area, one jump away from their home system, trying to get noticed...

Oh, THERE'S the response we were looking for!

Run away!

Then, on our way back, we flee into a bunch of pirates that seem to think a few frigates are easy prey... they chase us all the way to lowsec, but we decide to fight and jump back through to the far side the gate into 0.0, where they proceed to jump in their T2 fitted pwnmobiles a few at a time... <--- Clicky!

Their losses:
Manticore (30m)
Ferox (34m)
Drake (53m)
Brutix (50m)
Hurricane (55m)
Rifter (1m)

Those killboard figures are a bit inaccurate, but we had someone with more accurate figures.
Epid3mic > ok so now we are at 6 ships totaling 374,721,045

Our losses:
A bunch of frigates and a t1 fitted caracal.

Yes, we killed more than a third of a billion ISK in ships.

All in all, a successful night.

I'll have some fraps footage of the main beat down to post over the weekend ( as Windows Movie Maker chugs it out into a single file ).  The raw footage is 1920x1200 so I figured I'd do a 1080HD version and a lower def win media player file and an avi for ease of download.

Mine's recorded at 1920x1200 as well. I pump it through virtualdub to attach the files together and run a 2 pass compression with the Xvid hidef profile @ a target bitrate of 2020kbps. As you see, it turns out petty good and it fairly small as well. It took about 30m to encode, and if you're impatient you can do a single pass with 4.0 quantizer and it turns out OK. If you need more specifics just PM me and I'll walk you through it.

If you use filefront, as you see, you upload the higher def one and it does a compression and streaming automatically.

This is what I love to hear. The initial training of everyone always seems to turn me off to these gangs, but its just because i have a good amount of experience. The fact is, Eve engagements are as good or better than any UO / Neocron/ Shadowbane scraps that I have been a part of. Its strange that only PVP + loot produces these awesome experiences....but it has been something ive preached here and at WTO for years now.

I believe our initial gate camp today, if it were to be reproduced, could take on almost any gate to 0.0 and be a helluva fight regardless. People gotta understand, you spend your time missioning so you can buy effective ships for PVP and bust some people up. Its the way of things in Eve. Dont take losses hard. I've lost 250-300 mil in a single HAC...and lets just say they dont insure well :) But if people bring their best and you take the field, all the sudden you earn about 100+ mil in T2 fits and salvage. Loses are easily covered and crazy fun fights go down.

I been drinking but I say, move to 0.0. Experience and gain mad loot from it. If you dont like it or shit dont work, go run missions in empire some more...no harm no foul. Everyone I've seen in f13 so far seems to have the right attitude. Have fun with the game.

I sincerly hope someone managed to take their stuff.

Blowing them up is injury. Taking their stuff and selling it for profit, well, that's the awesome part. :)

Salvaging their wreck for top-end salvage is just icing.

And someone needs to post the capsule kill. :)

That looked hella fun. Wish I could have made it. Anything before my kids go to bed (8pm Eastern US) is generally out of the question, so I'm hoping there'll be another event at a different time if that works for everyone else. I've still got that of a fear-factor thing going, being all new-back-to-Eve thing, but I remember well the fun of at least 0.0 ratting. Never did get much into PvP last go around, even with the constant wardec we seemed to have with -V-. But that's the biggest thing that drew me back.

Throwing Rifters at big engagements is something I can do all day long, even just from the piles of them I've left around the galaxy. And no problem bringing out the Cyclone or whatever for missions and ratting to support a PvP habit.

Just some question questions:
  • For someone shy of T2, what is a good Rifter setup for tackling?
  • Is there just one type of ammo that's generally good for PvP or would I want to bring different types of projectile and missile ammo? I love the idea of a frigate swarm.
  • What's "FCing"?
  • If I did get rich enough to easily replace my BC, what would be it's most appropriate use in PvP? Long range stuff? I ask because a long time ago I had this vision of fitting it to take out frigate swarms with enough tanking to soak it up from the big boys, just for the surprise factor smiley Skipped over that whole Destroyer thing
